Oscar Pistorius to walk free 5th January 24 (P9)

Dead of night , no legs , no time to check who is in bed or not , it is easy to say what you would do tbf , or he could be a stone cold killer
I dont think he is, I think he just fucked up in the heat of an argument, like we all do, only he had a gun and a bit of a god complex from his fame.. Its just what I think though, lately that means it can be ticked off as probably wrong!

You dont live in south africa i take it , shoot first before you get shot in your bed , i dont know if he meant to kill her, only he knows for sure

The jury lived also lived in South Africa though, Kaz. And they weren't convinced by his story.

It was held that he wasn't reasonable in shooting through a door because he thought a burglar was in his toilet anyway, It was never really disputed that he was a strange bloke with anger issues.

When it first happened I could imagine it being an accident, compounded by him feeling extra vulnerable because of his disability.

When I read a few books about it in the years after, and also some of the trial transcript, I realised he was controlling, jealous and had temper tantrums. She even said she was "scared of him" in a text just a few weeks before she died.

He was a nasty twat who also had prior "form" with a gun before.

Exactly. Whether he genuinely thought it was an intruder or not (and I tend to think he knew exactly who was in that bathroom, and that she ran there after an argument) he was still intent on killing them

Maybe @blueinsa could tell us if it would be understandable for someone to behave like that in SA. Sounds like bollocks to me and it sounds like he got off lightly because of his fame.

Why do women stay with lovers who they are scared of?
