Oscar Pistorius

I know justice has a price it seems.

FWIW I don't know enough about the case to know whether he is guilty (of premeditated murder, pretty clear cut he did shoot her)

I suspect we will never really know what went on that night.

Come on Biffa.

Two people in a locked apartment. 1 is dead with 4 bullets fired at them, the other has admitted firing the gun.

We do know what happened that night. The only thing we won't know is "why".

From the evidence provided to the public so far I cant say beyond reasonable doubt (not sure if that's just USA mind) that he wanted to kill her. Does seem the most likely outcome conclusion i agree. Having said that i'm a simpleton and would hope that the people qualified to see that justice is served.

I wonder how much the steroids will come in to it. Think the defence will move on to this next and blame the steds considering the 'intruder' story is becoming a laughable.

They have said this morning they were a herbal remedy:

#OscarPistorius Defence says box was Testocompasutium co-enzyme (I think) NOT testosterone at all - herbal medication

Yes because they have to blame diminished responsibility and temporary insanity. They will not let him go to jail. This is South Africa he WILL definitely be raped on his first night and be passed around and abused. And one thing I respect about SA is life is life. If they say life you DIE in jail. He will be sent to Pollsmoor prison if found guilty.

Lets be frank here, going to Pollsmoor means youre going to be a subservient love slave to an overpowering man who's killed more people than Hitler. It's not a pretty sight and I don't wish it upon anyone but realistically its just the way the cookie (that's you!) crumbles. Rape, torture and mass murder are the order of the day behind those walls.

Sales of herbal remedies will be going through the roof this morning

I watched a great documentary on Pistorius(sp) where he was followed for two years by a cameraman. In it they showed him having bouts of depression. He was very 'hot and cold' and those around him said he had a dark side. Most of the time he seemed sound.

Mix a bit of that with some strong drugs and a gun and bingo.

They had a SA lawyer on the radio the other day and he said people given life sentences serve about 10/15 years before becoming eligible for parole. I'm not sure were you got your information but it's wrong.

Unless you are a rich "comrade" friend of Zuma and his ANC of course.

Remarkable how much parole has been handed out of late to those so ill, they are about to die yet years on, they are still living and breathing out on the golf course ;-)

My mistake I did not explain carefully yes they can get parole but if during the trail the persecution recommends a defendant not be granted parole it only needs the judge to agree. In this country I do not think we have that same provision.

-- Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:28 pm --

Of course corruption is rife and more transparent that is why I am not holding my breath that if found guilty he will get a heavy sentence.
