I know justice has a price it seems.

FWIW I don't know enough about the case to know whether he is guilty (of premeditated murder, pretty clear cut he did shoot her)

I suspect we will never really know what went on that night.

Come on Biffa.

Two people in a locked apartment. 1 is dead with 4 bullets, the other has admitted firing the gun.

We do know what happened that night. The only thing we won't know is "why".

From the evidence provided to the public so far I cant say beyond reasonable doubt (not sure if that's just USA mind) that he wanted to kill her. Does seem the most likely outcome conclusion i agree. Having said that i'm a simpleton and would hope that the people qualified to see that justice is served.

Soz bruvva, I was in no way suggesting you were a simpleton!

And one thing I respect about SA is life is life. If they say life you DIE in jail. He will be sent to Pollsmoor prison if found guilty.

They had a SA lawyer on the radio the other day and he said people given life sentences serve about 10/15 years before becoming eligible for parole. I'm not sure were you got your information but it's wrong.

My mistake I did not explain carefully yes they can get parole but if during the trail the persecution recommends a defendant not be granted parole it only needs the judge to agree. In this country I do not think we have that same provision.

Unless you are a rich "comrade" friend of Zuma and his ANC of course.

Remarkable how much parole has been handed out of late to those so ill, they are about to die yet years on, they are still living and breathing out on the golf course ;-)

Of course corruption is rife and more transparent that is why I am not holding my breath that if found guilty he will get a heavy sentence.

He is as guilty as fuck and will go down without a doubt mate.

No amount of cash for a lost police docket or evidence is going to save his arse here.

He cant even rely on a political pardon either or favour.

He should enjoy prison life, safe in the knowledge that his blades wont be fast enough to save his arse from a nightly beasting!

threats to society go there, they just use it as a tool to scare potheads and drunk drivers.

I thought it depended on the level of your crime? My sister lives in CT and has been there 6 years I have been to SA a few times. Beautiful country by the way was always a pleasure.

-- Wed Feb 20, 2013 1:09 pm --

Without a doubt mate.

One bullet could be argued as an accident but not 4.

In SA, a case of culpable homicide is often opened up after a shooting and then bail is granted whilst investigations continue and the facts are gathered.

SAPS seem very, very confident that he is banged to rights on a pre-meditated murder charge and the evidence (leaked by corrupt SAPS in good old SA style) suggests they are rightly confident.

The part of his story that I just can't get my head round is that he didn't check the bed before shooting. I can't believe anyone would actually do that. In fact, I imagine 99.9999% of men would warn their missus somehow that they were about to engage an intruder in a firefight within the very room in which they are sleeping, yet Pistorius didn't even give the bed a sideways glance to check she was still in it. I know that doesn't prove his guilt, but it certainly makes me question the version of events he has come up with.

True. In fact if it was me I would wake the wife and send her to sort out the intruder. She is definately scarier than me.

Don't think Hilton Botha will be in line for a promotion any time soon.

Next door neighbours were 600m away now says 300m. Walked across the crime scene without any protective footwear and possibly contaminated it (and then admitted this was a mistake in court)

Where's Morse when you need him
