Another fantastic signing, and this means that we are well covered in the center back position for at least a few years to come. Dimechelis may only have one or two years to go and Pellegrini may use him as a holding midfielder this season as he has great confidence in Dimechelis playing that position.

This was an opportunity that could not be passed on if you consider our financial relationship with Valencia with regards to Negredo and the fact that experienced, highly regarded center backs are difficult to find. He brings competition and keep the other players on their toes. He will have to work and toil like Dimechelis toiled and Mangala toiled to get into the starting line up especially after how well Kompany and Mangala have started but the signing is long term and he will prove to be an invaluable asset in the squad particularly in Europe. We have so many options and now have a defensive line that can rival anyone in Europe. And with the other signings to come, the team is now looking like a team that can really compete with Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern for the Champions league. This is the steadfast goal of the owner and the club and this transfer window has been absolutely immense so far and will get even better.
