It's not set in stone that if he joins he'll be Franco Nesta or even Rio Campbell but each time I seen him last season I was impressed, not the quickest or the biggest but his passing ability and postional sense are excellent in my opinion.

Why is it that he has been at Porto & Valencia, & also loaned out, & he's 27 years old, playing for Argentina & suddenly, he's so good that City have to have him ?No use in arguing with someone who doesn't rate him.

Real seem to be sniffing around him now, apparently one of their main transfer targets, especially if Ramos or Pepe leaves.

So basically he lacks two of the most important factors which defenders usually need, one or the other or both, in the Premier League. Then we see him struggling vs Roque Santa Cruz & Argentina's defence torn open through the middle by Paraguay when 2-0 up. Does that fill you with confidence for us signing him, as it doesn't me ?

Thats one game though, its like judging De Bruyne off one game V Wales. Its like judging Chelsea's defence off one game against Bradford City.
Not saying he is brilliant, but he is very highly rated in Spain, worth a look at tbh. We do need another CB to replace Demi as well as he is not getting any younger.
