Good player but can't see that we need a new CB unless one of our others is on the way out.
Very, very good defender. But I imagine our name's being used to force United into triggering his buy-out clause/up their wage offer.

Tolmie did mention Laporte as one of the targets when he started his It's Quiet thread so it makes you wonder whether we are going in for a defender.
Laporte renewed his deal though and maybe we have moved on?
I am not convinced Martin will be with us past January, I think either this window or the January one he will move back to Argentina, and in regards to Denayer I still think a club like City won't put absolute complete faith in him just yet, as he good as he is and can be he hasn't even played a senior game for us yet.
I see Denayer playing in the cup games like Boyata did for us .........and Otemendi would switch with Komps and Mangala for league and champs league games.......Denayer would cover injuries in those games .....
I'm not going to pretend I know too much about Otemendi, but if we are looking at another CB, I'd like to think we would also be looking at Stones from Everton!
So if MDM goes then we will have Komps, Mangala and Denayer as our 3 CB's adding him would fill the needed depth
