Can denayer just become a LB so we can play Denayer Kompany Otamendi Zabaleta.
The translation from Bing is 'After Godin pumpkins, that Valencia ate males, since i see the City arriving with their money to take Otamendi'.
I love crap translations.
There does seem to be a fair amount of talk from the Spanish press about us going after CBs, and Martin Blackburn said we were looking but not a priority. There could be truth in Demi leaving early.
Not followed this thread but Demi did say before he signed his extension that he sees himself playing in the MLS next. I also read somewhere yesterday that NYCFC are possibly looking to bring in more players but to do so need to give up others or rather the rights to other or something like that.
NYCFC are struggling defensively so moving Demi across early wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility I suppose. It'd also free up another spot for us to either promote an EDS player or bring one in.
Could we loan Demichelis to NYCFC? Potentially opening the door to Otamendi?
Think he wants to go to river plate for one last 'swansong' if you will. Being 34 maybe he can go there and up to him if he retires or goes to MLS. Wouldn't mind him coming back in a managerial capacity tho obviously in 10 years or so ;-)
Would have loved him at 25. What a great buy he's been after his initial problems. Top man off the pitch too and his mrs....
Haha I know. What a player once he found his feet (hull away when vinny got sent off) was his breakthrough game. Feel bad slagging him off when he joined us now...
We all did mate. Didn't watch it or go the other night but saw him being interviewed. Seen bits of him with his kid too. Top notch he is, would love him to come back once he finishes playing.
Me too, in a manly, buy him a pint, sort of way, you understand. That was a brilliant moment lol
I have a soft spot for our demi

Someone who hasn't earned enough plaudits from the media. They all slagged him off assuming because of his age he'd settle into the league instantly. After a shaky start he's been magnificent. So composed and so assured. He reads the game brilliantly which is why he slots into defensive midfield if required without problems. I'm still very nervous about Kompany's form. We look a much better side with Demichelis in there and he combined well with Mangala at the end of the season, even with Kolarov on the pitch we kept clean sheets. The sort of defender who will win you the game with a key bit of defending that you wouldn't even notice. Kompany on the other hand has shown far too much eagerness at making a statement early on in games and has been caught out of position as a result.
Fortunately Kompany can show class is permanent and form temporary this season, and if he doesn't I'm happy with the other options we have. I'd prefer Demi to stay but understand the club's thinking if he does move on.
I've noticed they do compliment him now, they say he's a great defender - but always add the caveat of his age and say he won't last forever.
Then they'll talk about how great Terry is and not mention his age at all.
