Other fans perceptions of us.

I love football, I love MCFC and love football. I am politically aware, love football and most of all love MCFC.

At the moment MCFC are cast in the role of super-villain while a veritable plethora of journalistic caped crusaders seek to bring the errant MCFC to their own idea of self-served justice by whatever means their superhero journalist utility belts possess.

Rawls argued that human beings have a “sense of justice”, we begin with “considered judgements” and proceed to adjust our beliefs until they are in equilibrium. This reflective equilibrium is not static: it will change as a person considers the issues and explores the consequences of his principles and morality. I would argue that the current assault on MCFC and its fans by these journalistic caped crusaders is an attempt to influence the core beliefs, morality and principles of ordinary dyed-in-the-wool football fans in such a way it has ended up with the demonization of the fans by themselves.

It feels as though the journalistic Batman figures of this world are intent on forcing this change so that it reflects on MCFC whilst simultaneously distracting from the established hegemony. Of course I would not expect any of these caped crusaders to admit to this as it be an example of their own personal reflective equilibrium changing as they portray themselves as the moral arbiters which would be tantamount to admitting they have ignored their own built moral compass in the chase for hits and clicks.

Sadly in my opinion, these self-portrayed superheroes of moral compunction have used their positions to harangue normal working class lads and lasses whose lives revolve around a football team and not the geo-political situation in Yemen or the indiscriminate jailing of a British citizen in a UAE prison. Under this barrage of accusations many City fans have taken to defending their club; it’s what you do, it’s your family and you defend your families honour to your dying breath with every fibre of your being. This sadly has only increased the ferocity of the attacks on City fans aided and abetted by celebrity loud mouths on national television who show hitherto unseen levels of hypocrisy as they fan the flames of an already toxic debate. They are nothing more than “useful idiots” to those in the media who seek to further whatever particular agenda they are promoting. We are becoming enveloped into a culture of scapegoating and blame, there has to be blame as nowadays no story is complete without a large dollop of finger wagging accusation from people claiming the moral high ground.

Regrettably what these journalistic Batman are doing is appropriating blame onto the blameless, the fans who are easy targets; the man who wants to take his son watch his hero Phil Foden. Sadly this blame has consequences, it takes away from the devastating effects of the war in Yemen and drops it firmly on Bob and his son Brians’ lap for having the temerity to watch a football club that Bob’s grandfather introduced him too when the Ottoman empire dominated the Arabian peninsula. Blaming Bob and his son for the ills of a nation distracts from the real story. It belittles the effects of conflict and narrows it down in such a way the war becomes irrelevant, Bob becomes the story not the starving people of Yemen. This is despicable in my view and I support the reporting of human rights abuses and commend those who do so. I, however don’t blame Bob; it’s not his fault. He just wants to go to the match, just as we all do.

We have undoubtedly suffered from negative media coverage and that changes other fans perceptions of us, they seize on the nonsensical stories about empty seats and say we lie about attendances, we are mocked for being an oil club, accused of human rights violations, its usually by people I expect have never ever been to a football stadium but have a SKY Sports package.

The simple reply is.

Champions of England, the best team in the land and all the world.
Nice. But you should have just posted the last paragraph

The lies about our attendances and fake tweets being shared about us giving away 5000 free tickets are being shared everywhere. Idiots lap it up and take it as fact. Anti city social media posts seem to have gone up a gear. It’s weird and it gets to me.

It’s amazing how many guillible people have fell for that. I’ve even had it sent from a united support uncle who’s not on social media so it’s been doing the rounds.

Also, there’s a picture of a half empty third tier that is being perceived as being today when it quite clearly is from 10 years ago when we had the sash kit. It would have been some shite europa league game.

End of the day if people are believing twaddle like this then says a lot about them and if that’s the only thing they can do then it must mean we’re shit hot on the pitch and that’s all that matters to me.

Manchester City, the worlds biggest and most historic small club with no history.

Check this fucking Yorkshire rag trolling **** out on Twitter. Stupid idiot has been on our ticket website and decided to post that we’ve not sold any tickets in certain blocks for today. I don’t know which is worse, a person from Yorkshire a fan of the rags or the fact she’s gone onto our site, to look at what tickets are sold. Sad ****.
What a fucking loser.

It’s funny how people react to us it’s an age thing in my opinion I’m on holiday in Filey bay we went watching Keane last night in Scarborough having a nice drink before the gig in north bay and it was mostly Leeds in there 40’s to 50’s and nothing but admiration for what we’ve done after a minute or two chatting they knew I’ve done the yards in watching the city and had a laugh about the dark days when we shit.

Outside of the rags and dippers I only get positive comments about city. most fans realize we are a real, loyal and very well supported club. The other lot are plain jealous, the fact both clubs fans are looking for empty seats on a match day shows how far they’ve fallen. The mighty rags are now serial losers and count seats whilst watching city play, truly pathetic. The dippers of course take a moral stance against our owners as they are of course absolute angels.

I rarely talk to fans of other clubs these days as the usual crap the media post about us comes pouring out, plus their own bile. Last night I made an exception but sadly it went as expected.

I'm sitting in a pub in Didsbury watching the Arsenal game, my mates are half watching, half not. Anyway just before the start of the second half this couple come in, early sixties and ask if they can sit next to me. No problem. They start chatting, they are from Leicester, here for the weekend. They've just had a meal and are staying in Deansgate and ask me where the tram station is for getting back. They seem a nice couple. Then we start talking about football. They support Leicester, or so they say, more on that later.

The chat is reasonable at first then it starts. He reckons they have the best owners, then it's we do it the right way, win trophies without spending a fortune. Then it's Pep only wins because he manages clubs with money, he couldn't do it at lower clubs. This is when I go from being polite to having a pop back at these pricks. As I educate them a little he actually apologised for slagging us off saying he was a bit out of order. This shows how much the years of constant anti City shite spouted by the media affects people's perception of us as a club and our fanbase. I realised they are absolute half wits when they said Messi, arguably the best player that has ever been, should have stayed at Barcelona and played for NOTHING if he loved the club so much instead of crying on TV. You really couldn't make it up.

They saved the best until last though. As the conversation widened with others,as they left he mentioned they were going to do a tour of the swamp tomorrow,!!! Apparently it was his birthday treat. So he was probably a rag who now supports his local side as they're not doing too badly these days. I was gutted they left because I really wanted to discuss this little gem with him.

I hope the cunts are both in bed ill with food poisoning this morning and he misses the tour!!
Mad that I've just been speaking to scouser in the pub last night who said the same about Messi, not a difficult decision is it work for free or 500k a fuckin week!
