The bee is a worker bee which is female which I’m now offended as I work and I’m a male .This was the original message:
I'd love to change it to the Manchester Bee as was suggested by a fellow blue in the media thread.
Personally I never liked the eagle so glad that's gone. The ship relates to Manchester history - good or bad - so I don't mind it. I mean we are a British team and Britain used to have the biggest, arguably most brutal empire of all time so of course our history is going to be tainted... The point is it's way long ago in the past so I doubt many people actually care or have even connected the dots on the ship.
I think you’re the one getting your knickers in a twist and foaming at the mouth mate.

I could comment on empires but not going to on a football forum regarding city.
Where does this madness end ? .
Great result tonight on the verge of something what could be absolutely unbelievable for us I’ll leave this there.
Great night , great support from the lads and lasses out there in Germany.
Up the blues.
It was in irony mate mate my first comment regarding a male worker. … which I hope most got.For me if you’re offended by a fucking worker bee because you’re male that’s hilarious and probably worse than anyone offended by a ship that has historical connections to the slave trade! Hahah. Jesus the sensitivity of folk.
Regardless I’m not offended by either symbols so I feel I’m winning at life!
But I agree with your last sentiments. Whatever badge we have we still have the same amazing team, same brilliant manager and we’re in with a good chance at the treble! That’s all I care about really. Night blues.
Personally I’d like a bloke in a camouflage coat selling half time draw tickets as a badge. For me if you’re offended by a fucking worker bee because you’re male that’s hilarious and probably worse than anyone offended by a ship that has historical connections to the slave trade! Great idea.. next step is the bee being linked to the cotton industry and then slavery or something equally daft.Erm no… haha. I literally say I don’t mind the ship symbol. How can I be triggered and simultaneously not dislike the said cause of anguish? Haha. You doughnut.
Anyway I was responding to another poster who suggested the Manchester bee would be a good alternative and I agreed… I do love that symbol more than the ship - just a personal preference mate, nothing to do with politics! For me the bee represents modern Manchester. Sorry that’s offended you.
You can keep using the word triggered and the whole candle obsession you have going on but it won’t change the fact you seem to be the snowflake here. I don’t know why it upsets you that the British empire WAS one of the biggest and one of the bloodiest? It’s a fact my friend. And I don’t think either of us were involved so don’t take it personally. Although I am starting to question how old you are…
Not read this piece but there has never been a well balanced piece in the Guardian. The rag simply peddles woke shite. An interesting, well-balanced piece in the Guardian today, written by a blue, discussing the origins of the ship on our badge, and it's links to slavary in the cotton fields of America.
Abandon ship: does this symbol of slavery shame Manchester and its football clubs?
A three-masted vessel adorns the city’s buildings and both teams’ crests. But is it an emblem of a crime against humanity?www.theguardian.com
