Our best 11 right now?

Tin hat on. Been here since 2007. KDB is a great player but not sure he really fits into this side and hinders the fluency. Much more fluent without him. Love Kun forever but we are much better without a striker. False 9 teams are confused. Some on here really do not understand Gabby. Game changed today when he came on. He offers s much movement and press. Bernie is back and more important than any other midfield player. First on the team sheet for me this season. So missed Rodri today he has stepped up boy time. Pep knew he was rolling the dice big time today with that lineup. Came out okay but cannot play that side top often. Our season is built on John and Ruben. Absolute class.

Agree with this. Never thought I'd see the day that we look better without the ginger king
 
I think the best way of getting Kev & Gundog into the same team in midfield would be to leave out the defensive midfielder. These two need some more energy around them to operate in the style we're playing in right now. Other option would be to play the false 9. Either way gets you Bernie or Phil as the legs required.
 
I think the first 9 pick themselves currently.

Gundogan

The next two right now would Jesus & Sterling for me.

De Bruyne looks way off currently but when firing I think he’s in, him, Foden & Bernardo rotating through the 8 false 9 and wide.

Not based on today's performance. I said it months ago, the rest of the midfield steps up to the plate in his absence. When he's available they often look for him to play a killer pass. Gundogan is anonymous when Kev plays. Bernie looks far better without Kev playing

Still dont agree any team with kdb is a stronger team for me.

But we're ignoring the opposition and their strengths and weaknesses which factor in heavily to Peps teamsheet. Plus if it was a final Pep would be making sure his best go to players are in the side. You can name out most in form 11 but we don't have a best 11, and there's many reasons why Pep wouldn't pick the 11 most in form players for particular game.

Totally agree on all points, you have provided the list of current “in form” 11 players. If we were to play in a final today you’d pencil in this as the team to pick then I’d expect as you have stated specific factors regarding opposition and if we have a big game following the “final” etc etc etc come into play,

in an ideal world you’d hope that Aguero, Laporte and KDB are fit and match fit and hit top form and that they could deliver to game plan or system.

the bottom line is none of us on here are the genius like what Pep is lol.... we would never have picked Zinc as a fullback in the clubs best 11, or even had Cancelo in the team let alone developing him into the role he fulfils today which has caused doubts on how to get KDB back into the team.

I think the only “real” problem we still have is no top striker I.e. a on form fit Aguero or a Haaland.
