Our best 11 right now?

I'd have ...

----------------- Ederson ----------------
Cancelo Stones Dias Zinchenko
--- Bernardo Rodri Gundogan ---
--- KDB ----- Jesus ----- Foden ---

But KDB would have to allow Bernardo to play his new CM style and not revert to a wide role.

I would not start Sterling or Mahrez. If I had to replace KDB or Jesus it'd be with Torres. I really think he's a run of good luck away from being phenomenal.

"right now" I would agree with that team, it is well balanced, and I would only tinker with the front 3 if Kevin and Sergio get back to full match fitness, otherwise for me it is your first 7 + any 3.

...............Ederson
.....Stones....Dias....Laporte
.........Cancelo..Rodri
......KDB...Gundogan...Bernardo
........Mahrez.....Foden

On current form, THAT ^^^ is the strongest XI. I could understand someone wanting to put Sterling in for Mahrez, but on CURRENT FORM, Sterling doesn’t get on the field ahead of Mahrez...and I’m often a FFS guy!

One of the things that gets missed with Mahrez is what a good outlet he is, because he kills the ball DEAD with the outside of his left foot, and defenders are loathe to attack him for fear of being made to look like a chump.

Early in the WHU game the big lad, Johnson, who was covering him for Cresswell got very tight, and I told my Bro that Mahrez needed to start knocking it past him first time because not only was the player over committing, but it would stop him getting tight for the rest of the game. Sure enough, Mahrez twigged him early, resulting in an early yellow card and having to stand off him the rest of the game. Mahrez, on his day, is brilliant at winning those “games within the game,” which helps him create during the match. Cue the second goal!!!

For the last month, Mahrez, Bernardo and Foden have all performed better than Sterling, who has too often reverted back to head down running (with, at best, semi-control of the ball) down blind alleys in hope of the ball squirming out the other side or a penalty.

Sadly, neither Jesus (who has been very industrious and playing reasonably well) nor Aguero get on the field to start with this line up, which contains about 5 false nines coming at you!!

Tin hat on. Been here since 2007. KDB is a great player but not sure he really fits into this side and hinders the fluency. Much more fluent without him. Love Kun forever but we are much better without a striker. False 9 teams are confused. Some on here really do not understand Gabby. Game changed today when he came on. He offers s much movement and press. Bernie is back and more important than any other midfield player. First on the team sheet for me this season. So missed Rodri today he has stepped up boy time. Pep knew he was rolling the dice big time today with that lineup. Came out okay but cannot play that side top often. Our season is built on John and Ruben. Absolute class.
I agree with you about Gabby but don't forget KDB has been integral to the best and most fluid performances ever seen in England. Including the first half of this winning run.

Ederson
Cancelo Dias Stones Zinchenko
Rodri
Bernardo Gundogan
Sterling DeBruyne Foden

I don’t think any of our strikers can claim that they deserve to be in our starting 11 based on form or performances at the moment.
