Wouldn't work, Aguero isn't a lone striker.

Based on my perception of the fitness and availability of the players;

--------------------------------Hart-------------------------
---Zabaleta----Kompany---Demichelis ---- Kolarov

-------------Toure---- -----------Fernandinho

----Navas---------------------------------Silva---------

------------------------Jovetic----------------------------
----------------------Dzeko -------------------------------

Aguero as good as he is just doesn't work well as a lone striker. We saw that in the Barca game. I would play negredo or Dzeko with aguero to get the best of him.

Couple of things, I still wish we had Barry or Big Nigel, from what I saw of Fernando it seems we're still missing that defensive rock to go alongside Fernandinho.
Nastasic was class in 12/13, I refuse to believe that his injures have cost him that quality. Thus he's included. Mangala isn't because I haven't seen him play and, to be honest, I think he's highly overrated.
Aguero, when fit, will always be our best striker. There can be no argument from anyone there.
Milner came in because he's a workhorse down that right and is okay to slot back when Fernandinho or Yaya goes forward. Our other option is Navas who was inconsistent last season. Saw too many duff games to cancel out the great.

That is a bizarre statement.

you can't have a "best 11".

its horses for courses, hence a decent squad.

eg i'd play dzeko at stoke away but jovotic v say villa at home.
the trick is to have a bench to rely on if needed. nowadays its best 17.

the spine of the team for me for us to be at top is

hart
vinne
yaya
silva
sergio

you can perm from the rest to compliment the spine maybe bar zabba(plays in all the big games)

Hart

Sagna
Kompany
Mangala
Kolarov

Fernandinho
Yaya
Silva
Nasri

Jovetic
Aguero

Yep, no Zabba. I think they're both amazing RB's but my teams all out attack and i think he puts a great ball in the box, Sagna. Hes also quicker. Still love Zabba though so either one really :-)

As is the implication that Fernando can't do the job we bought him for on the evidence of a couple of prestigious friendlies.
