Our Best 11?

Couple of things, I still wish we had Barry or Big Nigel, from what I saw of Fernando it seems we're still missing that defensive rock to go alongside Fernandinho.
Nastasic was class in 12/13, I refuse to believe that his injures have cost him that quality. Thus he's included. Mangala isn't because I haven't seen him play and, to be honest, I think he's highly overrated.Aguero, when fit, will always be our best striker. There can be no argument from anyone there.
Milner came in because he's a workhorse down that right and is okay to slot back when Fernandinho or Yaya goes forward. Our other option is Navas who was inconsistent last season. Saw too many duff games to cancel out the great.

Christ on a bike

And what kind of whopper judges a player as overrated without even watching them play

9 players I like it

Hart

Zaba
Mangala
Vincent
Kolarov

Yaya
Fernandinho

Jovetic
Silva

Aguero
Negredo

Tough decision to drop Nasri but I think Jovetic has looks great in preseason and really adds a lot to the overall play. Not saying Nasri doesn't but just prefer SJ over him.

.....DS............SJ......
.............SA.............

Suppose SJ could be swapped for SN. But I think against the better teams like arse, chel, liv, barca etc who like swamp and dominate the midfield, that team wouldn't allow that to happen. Like someone else said tho, I wouldn't pick that team against stoke or west ham, I'd then use the squad, ED, JM, JN etc.

4 2 1 2 1
Hart
Zaba Kompany mangala kolorov
Fernando fernandino
Toure
Nasri. Silva
Aguero

4 2 3 1
Zaba Kompany mangala kolorov
Fernandino toure
Nasri Silva jovetic
Aguero

Hart
Zab
Vinny
Demichelis (at this stage as I need to see the Mighty Quim play)
Kolarov
Fernandinho
Yaya
Silva
Nasri
Kun
Dzeko

Tough to leave out Jovetic, Fernando, Beast etc, but at this stage I reckon this is the strongest lineup. For those that question Nasri over Jovetic, they have different qualities and it's horses for courses. I like Nasri's ability to retain the ball. It works for our style.

Good point about nasri s ball retention especially in tighter matches. He is much more conservative and when he does take risks he produces some mint goals or assists like the Chelsea pearler a few seasons back. Against lesser opposition who are less likely to punish us after losing the ball give Jovetic the nod. He does take more risks and is on Silva and Toures wavelength if not higher. He's more of an athlete too so if he can stay free of injuries he has the frame to defend from the front important in a 442

Hart
Zab, Kompany,, Mangala, Kolarov
Silva, Fernandinho, Yaya, Nasri
Aguero, Negredo

Drop Aguero and Negredo for Dzeko and Fernando for tricky away games and some CL fixtures. If im honest im abit worried about the Fernando and Yaya Cm partnership, he looked a world beater with Zuculini but think Yaya leaves him a little exposed and Fernando plays very aggressively which can let to him getting caught out of postion. Think it will just take the partnership awhile to click.
