Well, just got back, there were large areas of empty seats predominently in the top tier of the City section, I would suggest 4 or 5 thousand but there were loads in the united section also, but not in blocks, just scattered about. The crowd was announced as 77,000 and something, 84,000 ish were at the semi and 86,000 at the final so not bad really considering money is tight. About 23,000 blues were there and on the way down we had a sad car count for us and them, gave up when it was 253 to City and 37 to United, at least we won that by a good margin...............
I actually think taking 22000 to a CS is a good attendance. We only sell out about 10 away games a season when we get between 2500-7000 tickets. Chelsea Spurs Newcastle Sunderland Everton (all similar sized clubs to us) and Wolves and even Blackpool last season, all sell out more away games a season than we do!
Another moronic post so that's me out of here as well. A few posters are showing their true colours tonight

I'm showing my true colours because I'm stating facts? It is a fact that Blackpool were up with Liverpool Arsenal and the Rags for away attendances last season. We didn't sell out at shit loads of games, I was at many, there were empty seats in abundance in some games. What's wrong with saying that? How does that make me a moron? I fucking certainly don't come on here and call people for not going to these games we don't sell out (at Blackburn, Birmingham, West Brom twice, Liverpool, at Spurs we gave them tickets back, Sunderland, West Ham, Chelsea... none of these away games sold out last season) that actually mean something! That can't be said for many many posters on this site with regards to the CS and that's just the CS! So am I the moron or are they?!

I couldnt go today, one of my family has been admitted to hospital with a serious illness, do i still count myself a blue, i have had a season ticket for 30 plus years. I do hope the moral guardians on here will grant me a pardon.

Likewise Carlos. I have just become a father for the first time and couldn't make the game. I apologise to certain members of this thread my absence. Being a father certainly has put things into perspective!

I thought they sold out?

Obviously there were empty seats galore in our end but unless my eyes are faulty I saw many empty seats in their end too?

I saw them too .......
Still gutted to see the gaps in our support even if you can understand it.
More worried about the gaps in our defence and midfield to be honest.

I got the tube from Oxford Circus to Wembley Central. Only appeared to be aboout half a dozen City and United fans on it. By the time we got to Paddington that had increased to about 20 each. By the time we got to Wembly Central about 100 United fans were on the train.

Why is it everyone who couldn't go has a sob story to tell?

All my mates who didnt go weren't on holiday, have plenty of money, etc. They didn't go because they couldn't be fucked, simple as that.

The people who have no money to go, fair enough. However, if you want to go to a match, you'll always find a way.
