Our glaring weakness at LB, will it be fixed?

Pep loves his energetic fullbacks, I'd be amazed if he didn't replace Kolarov and either one or both of our RB's if he does take over. But I wouldn't be that surprised if he gave Angelino a go at leftback either, he seems a pretty Pep type player

Angelino is the perfect type of player for pep

I think Angelino could thrive under Pep.

Going forward he is excellent albeit I think he needs more experience defensively and that's why I think he will be loaned out again in the coming weeks and we will see how he is in pre-season.

Same with Denayer although I think it's nailed on he will be a squad member next season, especially considering Pep likes to go 3 at the back occasionally.

I've seen angelino play over here for NYCFC, I do agree he has some work to do on the defensive end but the kid can play on the ball

I reckon he could play as a wing back in a three at the back system right now, a system which Pep does play.

In a back four he needs more experience defensively.

Like you said though, on the ball he is excellent and looks a real threat going forward.

Right now he is a wing back but with a little bit more experience I think he could be a great fullback

"Glaring weakness"....I don't know any other left-back in the league who contributes as much going forward as Kolarov. His crosses, overlap runs, shooting, first touch, passing and set-pieces are all excellent. Defensively, we've conceded on his side but I'm not sure that's because of him as much as a lack of solidity in the entire defensive line without Kompany keeping it together.

Also, Clichy is a more than capable #2. We also have a quality youngster in Angelino. Three good left-backs to choose from next season is hardly a glaring weakness.

And if Pep comes, it's likely he'll play with wing-backs which suits Kolarov's game perfectly.

I agree. I always rated Kolarov. This season I am sat right on the touchline and I love watching Kolarov play. His sprinting is very impressive. That's really tiring to run all out and do it repeatedly throughout the game. I know he has his critics in regards to his defensive game, but fullbacks is about much more than defending. Easily the best left back in the Premiership at the moment. There is not a player to touch him and given the injuries to Silva, Kompany and Aguero he has been our most influential player outfield player this season. Possibly Otamendi is a rival for that too

He could do with being rested from time to time. We miss Zabaleta as well. The fully fit version.
