I'm about as straightforward as they come, I don't sugarcoat my opinions and I won't water them down for anyone. That's clearly upset a lot of sensitive souls around here, but that isn't my problem.
There is nothing 'sly' about the way I give my opinions or the manner I deliver them. If I have an unflattering view about something the club does, I'll say so. I won't imply it, or be sly about it. If I see something as a negative I'll call it outright. For example the new club policy towards corporates and ticket distribution for away games.
Really is quite laughable that mods on here are joining in the witch hunting.
Is it any wonder you rarely see new users joining in with interesting discussions on contentious issues when 90% of the forum has some kind of a bizarre obsession with sniffing out undercover rags and previously banned users? Continually haranguing anyone they interpret as straying from an 'acceptable' consensus opinion of their choosing? Even see it with people who've been here for years copping it, likely because they aren't part of a clique or have thousands of posts.
It's fucking weird. And this forum is undoubtedly a poor place for it.
The pub analogy in some backwater is a fitting analogy.
Like I said, I've been getting baited for ages now. I just put up with it, even had a mod directly pm me accusing me of being a rag looking and for a rise out of me a while back.
That was only time I've raised this with Ric. That particular mod has cooled off with his hostility now though, and seems to have realised I'm genuine. I don't hold any petty internet grudges either though, so it's water under the bridge.
But I use that as an illustration of the level of hostility I've faced on here.
And it's still there, clearly. But I just get on with it, I know that if I respond in kind to the kind of insults I routinely cop for I'll risk a ban.
