Our season

7/10 personally

I thought at the beginning that this will be a rebuilding season, but we fought almost till the end, well tbf Arsenal was limping till the finish line

Season ends in sour-ish end - Pep leaving and i expected squad to fight more for a win, but alas

Signing have been great this season

Player of the season - Nico O'Reilly
Signing of the season - Rayan Cherki, I expected part time role and issues adjusting to the team, but what a player
Young Player of the Season - Nico O'Reilly
Most Improved Player - I'd say Nunes was most improved player, different position and is practically undroppable, close 2nd - Doku

Winning 2 cups obviously is a good achievement.
Finishing 2nd is certainly not a massive failure, we cant win every year.
But we all know this team is miles from the levels of previous seasons and we need a big summer if this club is serious about wanting to reach those levels again.

Great season all round could have been epic but alas, was not meant to be. Scheduling, VAR and the referees saw to that.

Well done Nico and Khus. Two absolute shining lights this season

On to Sunday, then Monday, then see what next season brings.

Love it that our standards are so high by us fans and the media it way higher then any other team in premier! 2 trophies 2nd is classed as a good season not great because as a club now it’s got to be either the league or champs league that then we have had a great season!

Didn't we say that last year?
Aye yes we did.

Still want that prime Foden back though. Missing that threat middle outside the box. We have flanks no problem with Doku and Semenyo. The middle attacking midfield is diminished somewhat.

It a variation of the same stick they tried to beat us with. You're not a great team til you win back to back prems...or league and cup double....then it was champions league....

Might sound a tad snooty, having won two domestic cups, but would rate it a 7 out of 10 season. I’m dating its start to include the tournament last summer, however. We probably got closer to the League than envisaged, but we were poor in the States and weak again in Europe.

At no time this season have we learned to use the full strength of the squad, arguably our deepest, and it’s often felt as if Guardiola has actually been managing teams within a squad. That needs to change.

We needed to be more ruthless last summer but couldn’t shift senior players and have ended up relying on the same aging midfield, which predictably ran out of steam. We now need a significant overhaul of the midfield and, just as importantly, to learn to rotate more both in and between games.

After last season, knowing we were still rebuilding, if someone offered us 2nd and 2 the two domestic pots back in August, anyone not accepting that would have been labelled as a lunatic.

8/10 for me. Green shoots all over the place squad wise. Some great games. Took four points off the champions.

The big downer is Pep going, the season itself is our 11th best in history.

Bit crap really.

2 cups is nice but it’s the bare minimum for our team.

We keep saying transition but should we have been?

We shouldn’t have been in a title race at all but for Arsenal doing their very best to bottle it.

Awful in the champs league on the whole.

Supposedly deep squad was shown to be full of passengers. Reijnders, Kovacic, Savinho & Marmoush absolute frauds over a whole season. Dias vanished when we needed him. Nico G all over the place. Rodri not there yet at all post injury.

Foden let us down until recent weeks. I wonder if we’ll ever know what’s gone on there.

As for Pep, I’m stunned he’s not used stones at the end when it was clear we needed a calm head. Guehi and khusanov were great for most part but could have used some help especially away in late games.

Onwards and upwards to next season. I hope those that are here are pissed.

We've come second in a transitional season, new players bedding in.
We've won the 2 domestic trophies available.
Apart from Pep leaving, my only gripe on the playing side was that first 45 minutes in Madrid.
I'd of bitten your bollocks off for this years ago, enjoy the ride.

Fuckin ace season congrats to them them as much as I hate em as we all know we can’t win it every season
Oh and that **** of a commentator is it a successful season winning 2 cups I mean ffs really

We were bang average in the CL, look miles away winning that trophy again.
Great away at Madrid but terrible at home to Leverkusen and away at Bodo, then polar opposite away at Madrid in the Ro16 to our League Phase game there. Disappointed with our campaign in that comp. The CL is the biggest club competition in the world and we should be aiming to do better in it than we have in the last three seasons.

We were decent but not good enough in the PL. Too inconsistent and look far away from what we used to be. 47% win percentage away from home won’t win a title and neither will throwing away leads in as many games as we have (Brighton a, Arsenal a, Chelsea h, Brighton h, Spurs a, Forest h, West Ham a). Dropping 15 points from winning positions won’t win a title, but also a number of those games had a long time left for us to still go on to win them and we didn’t look like doing it at all.
A potential 81 points is much improved on last season though so at least there’s that. And at the start of the season I said we’d be the league’s top scorers but wouldn’t be good enough to win the league, so it’s not a shock.

Winning both domestic Cup competitions is great. Not many teams have done that in English football history. If you can’t win the big ones, win one of those, and you’ve had a good season overall… and we won both!
We had some tough fixtures with drawing Brentford, Newcastle h+a and then the final against Arsenal in the EFL Cup; and Newcastle, Liverpool and then the final against Chelsea in the FA Cup… three trips to Wembley and winning all three, with a record fourth straight FA Cup final.

The quality of our squad has dropped significantly from our 2017-2024 teams. Levels below… below our 2012 and 2014 PL winning teams n’all. But we have missed Gvardiol Dias Stones Aké Rodri Kovačić and Foden for long stretches this season, and that’s a lot of big game and trophy winning experience not playing regularly… and most of the rest of our squad have been here 15 months or less, with a few not being anywhere near good enough for us (Reijnders, Savinho, Lewis).

When you think of that, winning two trophies, is a good season overall.

reasonable season but in reality we shouldnt have got close...it was only in the second half of the season we started to play decent football...the first half of the season was (from a style wise) pretty poor - summer transfer window needs to be got right ....

You've got the think if not for the shitty club world cup and a proper preseason what we could have done this season even when not at our best.

7.5/10.

The two trophies are fantastic and we've beaten great teams along the way, but in the league it's been so frustrating.

Failing to beat Spurs and Brighton. Drawing with West Ham, Forest and Everton.

The Champions League was a disappointment too. The Leverkusen and Young Boys games completely killed us and left us with a draw against Madrid.

Winning two trophies is not to be sniffed. We tried to make a fist of winning the league but plenty of factors that have conspired against us (partly down to our own making). Thank you Pep for the last 10 years.
