Our season

There are a few similar topics. All I wanted to say, was well done City. I think we finished the season as the best team in the league but the fixture schedule prevented us from catching up after a slow start. Arsenal won the league but they did it through brute force and a bit of luck at the right time with refereeing decisions.

When the new season starts, we will be favourites.
We may be we g go Ave lots of areas we can improve on

Vinicius junior and the like have tapered my expectations for next season along with likelihood of not retaining both our current keepers plus peps imminent departure and rumour of guardiol wanting out. Hopefully Trafford and guardiol stay and we get some left field purchases to what seemed the rebirth of a potentially exciting group albeit short of a standout gritty leader to put a foot in and drive the team on.

If any blue isn’t happy with this season they are spoiled brats. Every club in the league would be happy to trade places, bar one.
A great season, the 11th best in our 133 yr (146yr) issstreee. Although the constant failure/bottlers media narrative since last night may have the feeble minded thinking otherwise

Media shills
City
24/25 3rd and FA Cup Runners Up “dismal failure”
Newcastle
24/25 5th and League Cup Winners “brilliant season”

25/26
City
2nd, League Cup and FA Cup…. “115 blah blah blah”

There was a time earlier in the season where we never could have imagined finishing runners-up in the league as well as winning both domestic cups.

To have done so is just fantastic and, whilst there is clearly a need to improve in a number of areas, we have much to be positive and optimistic about for next season with either our current, or new, coach in charge.

I think everyone connected with City, on and off the pitch, can be very proud of what we have achieved this season.

I've had a look back at my FPL team for the first week of the season, I had 2 Liverpool, 2 Arsenal and only 1 City player in there which perhaps gives an indication of where my expectations were for the year! Personally I'm very satisfied with 2nd place and 2 trophies.

Feels good to be Blue.

20 in 10, so a bang average year, right? ;-)

Some seriously high highs, and a few low lows, but taken as a whole it is impossible to be anything but thrilled we were on for Domestic Treble until the last game of the season and had to “settle” for “just” the Domestic Cups.

It’s no surprise that teams have finally woken up to the importance of the Cup competitions in an era of City domination of the PL, as far too many of them have gone far too many years without any silverware!

We were the only team to give Arsenal a run for their money, but we had too many draws, esp from winning positions, that killed us.

For a team in transition, with so many injuries around Christmas we had to make two big signings, it has been a wonderful season of results, if not performances.

Much like Pep, I feel like the performance is sometimes more important than the result, esp when you are used to winning, and too many of them were substandard…based on the standard this club has set for itself.

All of that said, I can only feel philosophical about the season. Sad that we couldn’t create some final day excitement again, but ridiculously happy that Khusa, Guehi and even Semenyo have bedded into the team and become regulars. That’s some good transfer business given some of the deals we hear about!

So, overall, a very good season tinged with a little sadness at how it petered out in our last two away games.

But, I can hardly wait for the new fixtures to come out and see who we play when…although it’s pretty much guaranteed we will have difficult away games against Top 6 opponents around the CL weeks, as usual!

Roll on August!!!

Looking back at where we dropped points this season is not good reading, so many points lost to bottom half sides.

Baring in mind we had a CWC to contend with as well (unlike Arsenal and the other teams bar chelsea) I think it's been a pretty good season for us.

A good season - actually very good. Next year though we have to do better in the Champions League, we just haven’t got to grips with the new league format

Its been a very mixed bag for me as a lover of beautiful football. We won two cups so of course I'm happy with that. Not great games though. Finished a comfortable second in a transition season. We have had some really great games where our performance has been top and some wonderful moments too. Its too early for me to become emotionally attached to the new players although there has been much to admire in spells from Khus, Marc, Antoine, Rayan and the continues growth of NOR and Nunes has given a lot of pleasure. Reijnders, Nico, have been disappointing.

We continue to be lethargic too often in parts of games and I doubt we will ever see the like of seasons past again. Too many negative teams and it has been nice to see Bournemouth in particular play really good football and flourish with it. Very very sad to contemplate Pep, Bernie and John leaving and I'm not looking forward to Sunday/Monday if we remain in manchester for another day.

On a personal level the struggle to get to 10 games has been stressful and although we will be renewing for next season I am pretty sure it will be our last as season ticket holders. With the distance and associated costs it is the equivalent to 10 Wembley trips a season if we lived in Manchester.

I'm not going to congratulate Arsenal. I certainly would any team that played good football, showed some class on and off the pitch but they have been a disgrace and have been aided by a complicit Pogmol. Just watch how quickly the refereeing of set pieces changes next season now they have the result they want.

Finally, thank you Pep for the last ten years and a standard of football and achievements this FOC never dreamed he would see. You deserve a classy goodbye and recognition of a legacy that no other manager or coach comes close to. I hope that we can enjoy that this weekend.

Well happy with our season. Constant success is what we should all want. This will be the longest we have been without the title since 17/18 season. As long as we see improvement and we can see we are going in the right direction, I am happy.

What we have witnessed over the years with Pep has been amazing. I think our expectations may have to slightly turn down a notch going forward.

Very satisfied. At Christmas it looked like we might have a repeat of 2024/5, but two shiny trophies and second place, pushing Arsenal to the limit when it looked impossible at Easter. Only sad point are the departures of Pep, Bernie and Johnny.

Last season we finished on 71 points, so why would you expect City to get 90+ again, or perform like previous title-winning City sides? We needed to rebuild. We might finish around 78-81 points but you could argue, that the season was one of transition, and that should we start the season now we would be stronger still.

I think we are still trying to rehabilitate Rodri, and Cherki is adapting. Cherki is great with the ball, but he is a risk without it, and with Rodri not at 100% yet, it is a risk to start Cherki. Foden's form has been variable. So our midfield is still a concern.

I don't see how you can be shocked by our Premier League form. 24-25 was a season which saw the departure of KDB, Gundogan and Walker and serious injury to Rodri. To recover, City had/have to rebuild. It is another discussion as to how far through rebuilding we are. IMO we are a better side now than Arsenal but clearly not over the season.
Tbh i just dont think we should be losing to teams like Spurs no matter the situation. I also don't think we should be getting beat by teams like Leverkusen & Bodo so easily. Last season losing to Palace in a cup final? Shocking.
