Our support on here

I've genuinely never understood most modern fans and attitudes. Resilience seems to be in short supply. We're fighting on three fronts with no daylight between us and our opponents. This has been a weird season but we're in a very privileged place, and have earned it through good football. Tactical changes and experiments are allowed by by far our greatest ever manager.
Five points is plenty of daylight. And it's not like this Arsenal team is anything special. In a title race by any of Klopp's recent Liverpool sides, they would lose by about 20 points.

We're being outperformed by a team which finished 5th last season. That's plenty to get concerned about.

There's nothing wrong with expecting standards to be kept. We don't want to live in the past. That shit is for United fans. The plain fact is that we have been totally subpar for the entirety of the season and we are sleepwalking towards a year without trophies.

It's quite a common saying for older City fans that "this is the best time to be a supporter of the club, one day it will all go away". Well, we'd best make hay while the sun shines. We have to win a CL now, we need to retain the PL now, we need to win every pot and pan we can get our hands on now. And if that means scrapping players who don't want to be here or even disposing of managers whose ideas have gone stale, than so be it. We did it with Mancini, Pellegrini, Tevez, Sterling, Cancelo.
Really? So get rid off Pep ? Some posters on here are embarrassing, has the season ended ? thought not, calling for radical changes and we are still in 3 cups...please, get a grip

I'm not saying get rid of Pep now, I'm saying that if he continues to underwhelm, we should have no compunction about showing him the door. The best clubs are the most ruthless ones.

It's clear to me that the people calling for change or knee jerk reactions are either not City fans or simply have no patience. Sleepwalking to a trophy less year?..... when we are 2nd, 2 points behind 1st place in the premier league with 14 games to go, due to play a 5th round fa cup game against an efl team and be at home needing a slim win to reach the champions league quarter finals? When not even playing at our peak?

Well I suppose why wouldn't fans of other clubs try to get in amongst us and plant the seeds of discontent. That's all they can do really. They can't beat us to the trophies or match our income anymore. They're terrified we will become what they so desperately want. The moaners go on my ignore list on bluemoon. It's great not having to read their verbal hogwash. Moaning is just another drug. Up the blues.

I sort of agree to a point about the amount of moaning and woman arsing at the moment. I think along with the current uncertainty about the charges levelled at us and clearly not firing on all cylinders this season after the high of last seasons run on there is going to be a lot of frustration and emotion.

The squad is coming to the end of its cycle. We have a serious lack of pace and dynamism in the side. Apart from Walker and Haaland there’s no pace whatsoever. That’s one of the things in football that gets you off your seat, the sight of Leroy or Sterling running at a full back or David silva slipping one in behind for augero to run on to.

We are miles from that at the moment. In the first half Walker was having a lot of joy and space down his side and with a little bit of finesse could have put us in some good positions. However after dominating a very good opponent who I would go as far as saying had a better and deeper squad than us we let them back into it second half.

Although after they scored we did get a bit more control on the ball and did have a few chances.

I think that people just want to vent and know that with pep in charge and the quality on the likes of Haaland/foden/Grealish etc it feels like this could be a wasted season. Arsenal for all their plaudits and praise really aren’t that good. United are ok but shouldn’t be any where near us.

After last season and getting so close the last two seasons with the champions league it feels like we have taken steps back.

Signing the most prolific and sought after striker in football many of us thought that it was the missing part and that we would be unstoppable. Hasn’t worked out so anger and frustration has crept in. The squad needs a revamp. Look at the options Leipzig had in full back and midfield had compared to us. It’s a joke really. One senior full back at this level is borderline negligent. Lack of legs in midfield so that’s why we constantly turn the ball back and play safe through fear of the opposition running at us.

It is frustrating and at times a hard watch however I’m not sure calling our support crap or poor or entitled is accurate. Especially after a defeat or draw where we know we could have won.

Hopefully we can make a good end of season as I’m sure there will be a few twists and turns yet.

I’ve genuinely never seen the support on here be so negative towards the players and manager and I’ve posted on here for 15 years. It’s got to the point where 1-1 draws away in the CL are being treated by many as if we’ve just lost to bottom of the league. It used to be the match threads but now even the post match threads are just as bad.

People have become so accustomed to an elite football brand that anything below it is now leading to bizarre suggestions that the manager who brought that brand of football should now leave the club.

We’re 2nd in the league (2 points off top), in the 5th round of the cup (beat Chelsea & Arsenal) and in a great position to go through to the quarter finals of the CL. If I was reading some of the comments on here completely blind, I’d think we were having the season Liverpool are having. That’s the level of shit that realistically should lead to some of the comments I’ve seen on here.

You can’t be great every single year. It’s impossible. It’s why we’re the only team since 2009 to retain the title (x2) and why most managers get sacked the year after just one title is won. To win back to back titles for the second time in 5 years and to then be in our current position in the 6th year is immense.

Seriously guys, I can’t believe the absolute misery and unhappiness. If you’re so miserable now then you’re going to be in for a rude awakening when Pep eventually leaves and we have odd ‘really’ bad seasons like Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all do. Back the manager and team because they’ll come up trump in the end. They always do and if they don’t win the big prizes, they’ll come back again and win them next year.

Edit - I expect the miserable sods to carry on their spoilt brat support act in this very thread :)
Thanks @hello City. Nobody could have said that better.

We're shit, the worst team we have ever had in the last 100 years
I predict us to be in a relegation battle next season
Frank Ckark was better than Pep

Such tongue in cheek negativity as above used to be normal here,, a bit of levity knowing we have never had it so good now it is at times mard arsed moaning and new threads disecting a poor result like wecaee in a spiral of despare
