Our support on here

Five points is plenty of daylight. And it's not like this Arsenal team is anything special. In a title race by any of Klopp's recent Liverpool sides, they would lose by about 20 points.

We're being outperformed by a team which finished 5th last season. That's plenty to get concerned about.
Five points can disappear in a week & we still have to play them at home, Arsenal have also outspent us for the last few seasons, have a young hungry squad and manager, with very little battle scars and no CL football. Yes we haven’t really clicked since the WC but we aren’t waving the white flag either. It’s obvious we need re-boot of sorts, and this happens every 4-5 seasons (of the size needed) the last 12-13 years should tell you that, at the start it was every 2 years even though we had an amazing spine to the team, Pep/Tixi/Ferran have stretched that. What if Chelsea run out in front next season? Are we going to say but but but they finished 8th last year? Or are we gonna judge it on no CL football, a young hungry squad & manager that’s had a full re-boot plus some

I’ve genuinely never seen the support on here be so negative towards the players and manager and I’ve posted on here for 15 years. It’s got to the point where 1-1 draws away in the CL are being treated by many as if we’ve just lost to bottom of the league. It used to be the match threads but now even the post match threads are just as bad.

People have become so accustomed to an elite football brand that anything below it is now leading to bizarre suggestions that the manager who brought that brand of football should now leave the club.

We’re 2nd in the league (2 points off top), in the 5th round of the cup (beat Chelsea & Arsenal) and in a great position to go through to the quarter finals of the CL. If I was reading some of the comments on here completely blind, I’d think we were having the season Liverpool are having. That’s the level of shit that realistically should lead to some of the comments I’ve seen on here.

You can’t be great every single year. It’s impossible. It’s why we’re the only team since 2009 to retain the title (x2) and why most managers get sacked the year after just one title is won. To win back to back titles for the second time in 5 years and to then be in our current position in the 6th year is immense.

Seriously guys, I can’t believe the absolute misery and unhappiness. If you’re so miserable now then you’re going to be in for a rude awakening when Pep eventually leaves and we have odd ‘really’ bad seasons like Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all do. Back the manager and team because they’ll come up trump in the end. They always do and if they don’t win the big prizes, they’ll come back again and win them next year.

Edit - I expect the miserable sods to carry on their spoilt brat support act in this very thread :)

You understand this is a football forum where people can express what they think right?

Football isn't about absolutes, not many teams can substain what levels we have kept the previous 2-3 seasons, so a drop off season like this is understandable and even when dropped off we are better than nearly everyone and can blow people away.

As last week shown we cut a six point lead to zero and then ourselves let it open back up again, the season is far from over and both us and arsenal will drop points as we go on, so going top and staying there is a reasonable assumption.

New Strikers, New System, Ageing midfield, this year was always one of change and adapting, if we end up with a cup and second place it will have been a very good season

Mate half the thickos on here who post the negative shit aren't city fans.

I pulled one last night and he's sent me this fuckin poem about life, i think he's related to wordsworth.

They usually stick out like a sore thumb, always post when we lose or draw, never post when we win, can't bring themselves to do it.

I Just humour them.

Not against a team that has pace and is reliant on playing on the counter. And has yielded a win and two draws on the road.
I don’t think it was the gameplan to keep passing backwards. That’s why Pep was screaming ‘Haaland’ at them during the game, why he didn’t make any subs (due to wanting the team out there to work it out for themselves), why he came on the pitch and told them off at the end, why supposedly locked them all in the changing rooms after the game and why he was so prickly in the post-match interview.

Wait until you watch the game back mate and see how many times in the second half a wide open player received a pass and didn’t turn in the 5m open radius he was stood in and look to play forwards and instead played a first time pass back to the player who gave it to him, with Haaland throwing his arms in the air or slumping his shoulders and shaking his head up top.

Unfair post, yes there are some kneejerk responses, but most can see that this team is not what it was. The way we play explains the atmosphere at home . Beautiful football, outstanding first half, but to have 75% of the ball and create so few chances is a big concern. The opposition only needs a 5 minute spell of posession and we crumble.

I'm glad my power was cut all night, nothing more tedious than when the clappers come out on mass.

Thank god not everyone, including those at the club, easily dismisses ongoing problems within the team.
Clappers are horrible to deal with. Got banned on the City Discord for complaining about Grealish's G/A numbers.

Spot on. Full time, turned the tele off. Settled for the draw. 30 second peak on here, turned the tablet off and went to bed.

They’re best off ignored. Many actually are City fans n’all but get over emotional and their reaction is to want the manager sacked, but there must be no more than five posts in every thousand like that, and again, they’re best off ignored.

But there seem to be a number of posters on here who dwell on those posts most and then even start actively looking for those kind of posts to reply to and then lump everyone with any kind of negative post all in together with them.

Some posters can’t debate neither. Instead of disagreeing with a post and putting their counter argument forward, they see their arse and start saying childish things and end up being just as useless in bandwidth as those saying, ‘time for a new manager’.

You just decribed me to a T. :)

I've banned myself from post match threads as i do go looking for the negative nobheads, usually they turn out to be fans of other clubs but these idiots calling for peps head who are city fans need to have a word with themselves as it's embarrassing.
