No need to be so defensive. It was a response to you pejoratively deploying the terms ‘clapping‘ and drawing a distinction from reality.

We all have our own perspectives on City, much of which is rooted in our own personality types, and that means people are bound to disagree about the short term prospects for the team. No-one can do much about their nature.

However, perhaps some of us, having witnesses the…err…perennial winning mentality of this group of players, and the manager that has led them to that, feel that at this stage they deserve the benefit of the doubt, given we are still very much in the hunt for three trophies.

You clearly don’t, which is your prerogative, as is mine to point out when you've done this previously in title winning seasons.

I can give the benefit of the doubt whilst still airing my concerns.

Teams dont win the title three years running for a reason, it is fucking hard , those moaning have lost all sense of reality ,our owner and board will acept that fact

Never mentioned the title, I am talking about general performances and entertainment, in that we have regressed.

3 titles would be an incredible achievement and it's more than possible even with this present squad.

I don’t think it’s the glory itself.
With us in particular I think seeing what it takes to win in this industry is a double edged sword for me.
The more shit that’s thrown our way and the more on and particularly off field shenanigans that are revealed in how, what was a sport I loved, is managed and influenced, the less I like the industry we are trying to be top of.

I do like others find myself doubling down on the defence of the team though, so it’s extremely difficult to give the game up.

But my interest has waned in recent years just by knowing too much about a bent game governed by a cabal.

The fight between us and the so-called elite is why winning silverware means so much more, it's the impossible dream at times, But they know our own downfall is by not killing off games and scoring 5 or 6, then they have you,

You have to take the match officials out of the game early, or they control the game and the result,
if you look at pep's city teams and records, we have scored near the 100 goals every season in the league and that wins you the points and the titles. If you're scoring nearly 3 goals a game, the match officials can do fuck all about it.

This is why we are not in the best of places this season, in the league because we are working on a new setup with Haaland, it has becomes patchy, and we have lost that game killer,

The OP makes some good points.
The problem is some here have been spoiled by our success in the last decade and their expectations have been raised by this.
I suspect a significant percentage of those complaining were probably not here in the 4 decades that preceded this incredible period we’re in and have followed from a distance.
I very much doubt those who’ve sat through the hard times have much to complain about now.
I am not a guy who sees things through tinted spectacles and yes I too get frustrated when I see missed opportunities but the simple truth is that it’s totally unrealistic to expect to win everything all the time. Criticism is a form of expression and everyone is entitled to their own opinions. However the vitriol spilled by some here is nothing short of embarrassing and unjustified given there us no lack of effort on the pitch as far as I can see.
We are still in a great position in the league and cups (well at least the ones we’re still in!) and no matter what happens my love and respect for this club and the huge majority of those who’ve had the honour to pull our shirt on will always remain unchanged.

It’s the very epitome of spoiled. 4 titles in the last 5 years, in a reasonable position to make it 5 in 6, the best coach and football in our history (or since my first game in 1964) and the shit that Pep and the players are getting over a blip is pathetic

Spot on. We are becoming or might even have become the very epitome of the ‘most entitled’ fan base in the league (Chelsea might have something to say about this though). The very same accusation we threw at the rags for all those years
