Our support on here

I don’t think it was the gameplan to keep passing backwards. That’s why Pep was screaming ‘Haaland’ at them during the game, why he didn’t make any subs (due to wanting the team out there to work it out for themselves), why he came on the pitch and told them off at the end, why supposedly locked them all in the changing rooms after the game and why he was so prickly in the post-match interview.

Wait until you watch the game back mate and see how many times in the second half a wide open player received a pass and didn’t turn in the 5m open radius he was stood in and look to play forwards and instead played a first time pass back to the player who gave it to him, with Haaland throwing his arms in the air or slumping his shoulders and shaking his head up top.
They are being over cautious but from their perspective they don't want to give the ball away and allow RB Leipzig to fully break on them (especially with their pace)

I’ve genuinely never seen the support on here be so negative towards the players and manager and I’ve posted on here for 15 years. It’s got to the point where 1-1 draws away in the CL are being treated by many as if we’ve just lost to bottom of the league. It used to be the match threads but now even the post match threads are just as bad.

People have become so accustomed to an elite football brand that anything below it is now leading to bizarre suggestions that the manager who brought that brand of football should now leave the club.

We’re 2nd in the league (2 points off top), in the 5th round of the cup (beat Chelsea & Arsenal) and in a great position to go through to the quarter finals of the CL. If I was reading some of the comments on here completely blind, I’d think we were having the season Liverpool are having. That’s the level of shit that realistically should lead to some of the comments I’ve seen on here.

You can’t be great every single year. It’s impossible. It’s why we’re the only team since 2009 to retain the title (x2) and why most managers get sacked the year after just one title is won. To win back to back titles for the second time in 5 years and to then be in our current position in the 6th year is immense.

Seriously guys, I can’t believe the absolute misery and unhappiness. If you’re so miserable now then you’re going to be in for a rude awakening when Pep eventually leaves and we have odd ‘really’ bad seasons like Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all do. Back the manager and team because they’ll come up trump in the end. They always do and if they don’t win the big prizes, they’ll come back again and win them next year.

Edit - I expect the miserable sods to carry on their spoilt brat support act in this very thread :)
Great post mate a lot of people have a problem excepting it's a game played by humanbeings.

Mate people have a right to call out poor performances and poor tactical decision.
i bet you are right joy at work yes boss more boss, do one
Everyone has the right to an opinion it's how some on here express it, and a few have become entitled expecting victories every game and if that doesn't happen they wade in.

Another person who seems hugely, personally offended if anybody dares to criticise any aspect of City. Personally, I can't understand that.
We're all extremely delighted by the trophy haul in the past 10+ years but that's no reason to just stop there and accept a fall in standards, if there is one.
Pep, Soriano, and the players and the whole club are hellbent on maintaining the incredible success into the years ahead....the standards they set are high, do you think they are sitting back with a cup of tea and a biscuit saying, "it doesn't matter if we win piss all in the next few years, look at what we won 8 years ago"...nah...they want to push on and keep things going.
People are perfectly entitled to have a different view and comment on what they think are mistakes, try and not take it so personally.

There is plenty if constructive criticism- perhaps it's how you choose to interpret it.
Your penultimate paragraph shows your lack of analysis imo. That's my interpretation.
Sorry.
I didn’t say there wasn’t constructive criticism mate, so I’m not sure I trust your interpretation of my post ;)

But herein lies another problem, the written word can be read & interpreted completely different by different people

I could interpret the part in bold as you being funny & having a joke, or being sarcastic, or being ****, or trying to belittle me etc etc

One of those, or something else is your reality as you wrote it. How I read it is my reality mate

So to say a ‘happy clapper’ doesn’t live in reality, is still the same nonsense comment I originally responded to bud

Nothing irks me more than us City fans arguing amongst ourselves.
I don’t think we can simply categorise two elements between happy clappers and nay sayers. There are many more variables in part based on perception, age, life style etc.
I am no happy clapper I just don’t let football get to me in a way where I feel inclined to use my phone to type “ Fuck off Rhodri you are Shit” for example.
This forum is healthy if fans want to explain why they are not happy. For others they are still content to be where we are right now.
As I said - I do not think calling players out using a derogatory epithet has a place here.
Expressing an opinion with a sound explanation as to why should be welcome either way.
