Our support on here

Don’t worry OP it’s just a forum full of gobshites like any other.

It’s different at the match, overwhelmingly fans are positive and thankful for where we are and the wonderful times we’re living through

Sensible and balanced highlighting a lot of genuine fan’s frustration this season.
My brother is a Blue, a real happy camper.
He’s always upbeat.
I genuinely had to tell him to calm down after the Forest game.
It’s usually me ranting at him : )

No it’s not. We react to performances and apart from the odd silly post, they’re mostly all spot on.

That second half tonight was appalling, a total reluctance to take responsibility of playing the ball forwards. It was very poor and very boring.

Five times we had a wide open man in midfield under no pressure whatsoever, just first time pass it backwards to the player who gave it him in the first place. TURN AND PLAY THE BALL FORWARDS! That was truly a ‘boring boring City’ second half display.

There’s fuck all wrong with anyone saying that.

When Pep does the video analysis with the team he’s going to be throwing stuff at them.
Odd silly post ? Get a grip, absolute bell ends slagging everyone off ! Where's our siege mentality ? ITS GONE ! I wouldn't like to be in the trench with you fuckers

It’s not about being spoilt, it’s more out of frustration.
In previous games there’s been a real lack of energy, movement and pressing.
There’s lack of passing to Haaland.
There’s certainly a lack of substitutions.
The frustration for me comes when you watch us in that first half and see how good we actually can be, only not being able to do it for 90 minutes and consistently.
That’s the season so far, not just tonight.
I’d never judge a fan’s support during or straight after a result that doesn’t see us coming away with a win.
Fans will be angry at this time, rightly or wrongly.
Yeah a small minority might go overboard but on the whole most are just venting and giving their opinions.
It’s been a poor season so far, poor by the standards we set.
Not everyone is happy about it, understandably imo.
Haaland was angry, Pep was angry… could see it on both of their faces on the pitch at the end. So there will clearly be fans who are too.

All people need to do is ignore the small number of very stupid posts and not reply to them and not dwell on them.

When someone’s talking bollocks in the pub, you don’t stand and argue with them, you walk off and think ‘I’m not listening to that idiot’, so why do the opposite online?

There’s a lot of anxiety about. The team are misfiring and largely boring to watch, after a long period of swashbuckling performances. It’s infuriating because we have the best striker in the world who’s barely getting a kick. We have young stars who seek out of sorts. There’s the spectre of whatever the PL might do, the rags looking to have turned it around. Obviously things could be worse. They could be better though

Because you can't get punched?

I personally don’t think it’s gotten worse or better. It just feels the same as the past but different time period.

I think people just engage more with others now but one would need to see the analytics for my assumption. BM is such a ‘big place’ that I can’t even engage with everyone or everything.

I just feel like it’s difficult for people to stomach different opinions. Extreme or not, we can’t all be the same. Can’t support the same. Backing the club also comes in a different way for some.

Nonetheless, I do understand OP’s sentiment. I’ll back the lads, come rain, snow or sunshine but it’s ok to also make comments on one’s perceived observation of a match, be it criticism, annoyance, disappointment. It’s also a sport of emotions, so things are said in the heat of the moment.

The problem with some of our current support post 2010 , is they are used to glory , a lot have changed from other teams they supported lthey have discarded their Chelsea , Rag , Goon shirts and have latched on to our success , not slating gloryhunters the more merrier but these type of supporters have a lower pain threshold.

Having supported the club for over 60 years , i have seen the Mercer glory days , the Swales depression and the current unbelievable success , and i am quite used to the pain the my club has given over the years. The so called "legacy" fans that frequented Maine Rd have more perspective when we have a "disappointing" away draw in a Champs league knockout game against a very good German team'.

No i wasnt at York away , but was at Fulham losing 0-5 at half time in the second division and doing the conga on the terrace sin the pouring rain with a few hundred more nutters................perspective.

I’ve genuinely never seen the support on here be so negative towards the players and manager and I’ve posted on here for 15 years. It’s got to the point where 1-1 draws away in the CL are being treated by many as if we’ve just lost to bottom of the league. It used to be the match threads but now even the post match threads are just as bad.

People have become so accustomed to an elite football brand that anything below it is now leading to bizarre suggestions that the manager who brought that brand of football should now leave the club.

We’re 2nd in the league (2 points off top), in the 5th round of the cup (beat Chelsea & Arsenal) and in a great position to go through to the quarter finals of the CL. If I was reading some of the comments on here completely blind, I’d think we were having the season Liverpool are having. That’s the level of shit that realistically should lead to some of the comments I’ve seen on here.

You can’t be great every single year. It’s impossible. It’s why we’re the only team since 2009 to retain the title (x2) and why most managers get sacked the year after just one title is won. To win back to back titles for the second time in 5 years and to then be in our current position in the 6th year is immense.

Seriously guys, I can’t believe the absolute misery and unhappiness. If you’re so miserable now then you’re going to be in for a rude awakening when Pep eventually leaves and we have odd ‘really’ bad seasons like Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all do. Back the manager and team because they’ll come up trump in the end. They always do and if they don’t win the big prizes, they’ll come back again and win them next year.

Edit - I expect the miserable sods to carry on their spoilt brat support act in this very thread :)
The vast majority of posts are constructive and measured. In fact yours is the most over-the-top post on here.

No one is calling for Pep to go. Most people just want Our Pep back again.

"People are accustomed to an elite football brand". Damn right we are. Is that bad? Isn't that what the last ten years was trying to achieve?

"You can't be great every year". Arguable. You can't WIN every year that's clear. But it would be nice to think an expensive squad with fantastic players could still be great to watch. In fact I'd say that's a minimum.

"Rude awakening when Pep leaves". No one knows how it will play out but if you think that City will drop like a stone when that happens then maybe the real misery around here is yourself. I'd prefer to imagine a future where City continue to challenge the Red status quo with exciting players in an attacking style. And maybe win a few Post-Pep trophies along the way. Until that day Pep has my full support but forgive me if I continue to call out frustrations along the way.
