Does kick off time matter? I don't feel as up for it at 12.45 or 1.30 than I do 3 or 5.30. I love a match under the floodlights too.

Excellent point.

The night games under the floodlights when its cold and chilly have a special ambience about them.
The early & late kick offs just destroy it.
Remember when we played Everton a few years ago? I think it was an 11.30am kick off (was it a Sunday as well?) - absoulety crap!

11.15am. I was at a wedding on the Saturday and vividly recall hanging around outside a sports bar that didn't open until Midday so I could watch the second half and THAT goal from Danny Mills.

I like teatime kick offs myself. 5.30pm on a Saturday is cool.

OK. We need an action plan.
What the powers-that-be need to do is to allocate the entire South Stand, certainly the lower tier, to a heavily discounted season ticket fan base with a maximum age of 40. Football demographics will mark out this age group as being the most vocal and the most passionate in their support. Away supporters should be tucked away in the corner of the CB stand, out of the way of the cameras. I don't know how easy or how quickly it would be to do this, but it has to happen if we are to capture the passion that some other clubs seem to command when they host us. A cheer leader of the Besiktas kind would help this stand to become feared, but in time he wouldn't be needed as the stand would develop it's own image.

I dont agree with the point he is making because my dad is over that age and still very vocal but because I am under the age of 40 I guess I am a glory hunter then?

Around me it is the ones UNDER 40 who are the LEAST vocal............. could that be because a) we don't get as embarrassed as the youngsters when we make a noise or b) because we have always shouted and cheered for our team???

The point I'm making is that the great majority of vocal support will come from the younger end of the fanbase. This is not a cast iron thing in that fans below 40 are ALL vocal, and that fans above that age bracket are ALL about flask, sandwiches and TV for away games because this is not so. There are a good many who are in the opposite side of this dividing line, but look around you if you are behind the goal, and what age group is it MOST LIKELY to be, singing, chanting and standing for 90 minutes, and giving it that to the opposition's supporters?
