Pablo Maffeo

With the rumours of a 3-5-2 formation, could this explain why he has played so much at centre half for the EDS, and not in his natural RB position? So he is being earmarked as one of the '3'.

At the same time, Angelino fits into this reasoning too, with him playing a fair bit at left wing at various times.

Does anyone know how he's been doing at Girona? I think he was struggling to get in the team at first which I must admit surprised me. Top talent from what I've seen of him.

He was the best academy player last season, but they didn't give him fair chance to develop.

I know mate, every time I see him play he 100% reminds me of his namesake Zaba. He literally is mini Zaba. According to transfermarkt he's only made 5 appearances for Girona totalling 80 minutes so I was wondering if anyone knew why he's seemingly being left out?

Regards the starts,i guess its easy to forget his tender years, maybe its just been an agreed method of introduction as hes apparently getting more game time now.

Yep. Not 19 until July. So easy to forget that, and I did myself to be honest. He's started 2 out of the last 3 now and there's two more games left so he might get another two starts in. Not a magnificent loan, but if he gets his professional debut duck out of the way then that's not too bad. He's have made around ten appearances altogether and that'll have to help I guess. He's now a Spanish regular too because of that loan move so there's plenty of silver linings to glean from it.

Agree, it's still better than stip being at EDS under that new coach. He seems to take his confidence to the professional level and seems to have a great attitude and attacking threat. Can become a future star for us.

Looks like he's grown a bit, and put on some muscle compared to when I last saw him on the preseason tour.
