Pacquiao Vs Marquez Part III

I can't envisage pac was putting across some sort of hidden agenda, but as far as a carrot is concerned mayweather will be feeling like bugs bunny at the moment. Fighters notoriously always have an opponent who contradict there styles and Marquez for me has had pac beat twice and been robbed, that's not say the potential money v pac fight can be called on the back of this, however I'll stand by that floyd is a class above and would win unanimously on points!

Im gutted for Marquez. Knowing how close these fights are I had money on a draw and a Marquez to win on points. At the best of Pacman it was a draw not a win. At the worst for Marquez a draw. I watched it live and watched the replay still think Marquez won the fight at the most by 2 rounds. Last week we seen Ricky Burns counter punch and box to a win against Katsidis. It was like that fight last night. Marquez countered Pacman all night. He is so unlucky not to have beaten Pacman. A robbery is a bit harsh it was a close fight that he should of got the decesion. Even at the end of the fight when its close both fighters put up there hands Pacman didnt he knows he got beaten. Calling out Money is bullshit it wont happen there should be a rematch. They had the clause in the contract if Marquez would of won there would of been a rematch. I dont think Pacman wants anything to do with Marquez or Money in my opinion. I think Marquez will be thinking about retiring after that there is only so much bullshit decisions you can take before calling it a day.

last night was the reason pac will never get in the ring with mayweather. he can't cope with a decent counterpucher and money is simply the best.
how he won that fight last night i'll never know. gutted for marquez

last night I felt gutted for Leighton - and admired you for your skill and balls in backing your assessment of the match-up; I chickened out.<br /><br />-- Sun Nov 13, 2011 4:34 pm --<br /><br />

if each of them gets paid $75m I think you might see that happening, although it's possible Marquez may have an option depending upon the contract they signed, but then even he could pick up a portion of that Pac v Mayweather (since I believe he only earned $5m last night) if he were to stand aside for them to make this fight next.

the only hiccup really (other than adding to the disreputable reputation of boxing referees) is that Pac in the manner of this 'victory' has lost a little lustre, and that might take a little off the edge of a Mayweather bout since he hardly battered Marquez and he didn't come off as the unstoppable force he has seemed in his more recent fights. Still, I think Pac v Mayweather would sell, and a few more people might be rooting for Mayweather simply because of Pac v Marq III.

who knows?

McfcinUSA you may have chickened out of the bet but you saved yourself money by not doing it. I love my boxing like any other fight fan out there just look at the history between both fighters and 2 other fights were both too close. With the odds Marquez was at it was a no brainer for me to do a bet on him at those odds. The next fight I will be lumping on Carl Froch in the final of the Super 6. He is going to win that by late stoppage against Andre Ward so Froch to win by KO that night will be my main bet. Frochs power will be key to this fight. He might not be as slick as Ward but his boxing skills are good and if it is a slug fest then Froch is the man to take the win.

I watched it live & for once never had a look at the betting before the judges gave their verdict, any idea of the prices at that point?
Oh and froch is about 2/1 for that very contest!

I never thought about looking at the prices as I was in my head calculating how much money I could get if its a draw or a Marquez win. Wont back Froch just yet seen I think 7/1 for Froch to win by KO / TKO but I would guess I will get better odds closer to the fight.

the guardian also scored it in favour of Pacquiao 116-114

am i missing something? because to me it was marquez's all day long!

Just saw that a minute ago, seems Steve Busfield is as clueless as our own bluegonads.

Anyone have the fight stats?

Can't seem to find them

<a class="postlink" href="http://compuboxonline.com/packages/pacquiao-marquez/PacquiaoW12Marquez.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://compuboxonline.com/packages/pacq ... arquez.pdf</a>

marquez was doing the most effective punching for a good 7 rounds. although pacquiao was throwing more he wasnt landing the clean effective shots that marquez was.

Pac has effectively got worse and worse since he took up his position in the government. He should retire now but he wants the money so he can help the people in his country out. If he is serious about Mayweather he will need to concentrate on his boxing alone, and freddie will need a big game plan for him
