And you may have missed this.
You post stuff like this, and yet you still go around knocking on doors, asking people to vote for this government.
And you may have missed this.
And you may have missed this.
Tbf that’s what your supposed to do, if more bothered doing it instead of just letting shit happen then the country might be a bit better off.You said ‘to stop the genocide’. The genocide will only stop when Israel has gained enough of the land of Gaza as they set out to take. Nothing I do will do anything to stop that.
Do you tell your MP about everything you have an issue with?
I agree that the thugs should have been tackled but jailing people for social media posts, even racist ones, is overreach. Where I live there are no police stations and the police do not respond to crimes like burglary, car theft at all. They don’t even respond to street attacks with a low value theft. The drug dealers are ignored. Yet they find time to lock people up for social media posts. The prisons are overloaded. They should focus on organised crime and corruption which is rife. How so ?
Hundreds were bricking and setting fire to police , setting fire to Hotels and Mosques. Riots would have got completely out of control if it wasn’t for Starmer and coming down hard on some of the c*nts who were instigating and pouring more petrol on the fire. God only knows how bad it would have been if Farage was PM and Migrants were being attacked.
I have written to my MP about other things. The last time was when the Tories gave funding they were going to give to MCC for the redevelopment of Wythenshawe Town Centre to some place in Wales, so asked if they were going to source funding from elsewhere.Tbf that’s what your supposed to do, if more bothered doing it instead of just letting shit happen then the country might be a bit better off.
I think in a normal time, I'd agree. But I think if we look at it in the context, with multiple day riots looking to get out of control, there was a deliberate policy to come down on a tonne of bricks on these things to act as a deterrent. And it worked. I'd have no problem with these people being let out early though. Incidentally, I also said that I'd be in favour of the government treating members of Palestine Action likewise, and giving them extremely harsh sentences for the damage they caused to the plane. What I'm not in favour of is rushing through terrorist legislation because it's easier than actually letting the existing laws deal with them. What we're currently seeing is the consequences of the government completely failing to make the case. Their entire case for them being banned is a couple of bits of criminal damage and "some more stuff we can't tell you about yet, but trust us." And let's be honest, a lot of people have been burned before by 'trust us' from a Labour government on the Middle East.I agree that the thugs should have been tackled but jailing people for social media posts, even racist ones, is overreach. TBH, I don't trust any video clips I see from Twitter these days. You've got no idea what happened beforehand most of the time.I'm amazed the folk who are constantly on here ripping Palestine Action apart aren't commenting on this. Police assaulting a guy for doing fuck all wrong.
Theve got him in a headlock and the other copper is punching him.TBH, I don't trust any video clips I see from Twitter these days. You've got no idea what happened beforehand most of the time.
I work for the Met police and haven't been involved in policing the protests, someone from my team worked it yesterday however and has told me that they were under instructions to arrest anybody with a sign mentioning Palestine, not 'Palestine Action', just Palestine. To say this makes me uncomfortable is an under statement
I'm pretty sure that is not an arrestable offence under the terrorism act.If someone walked through Manchester with a placard saying "I support the KKK' as a peaceful protest. I'm pretty sure they'd deserve to be arrested. Peaceful protest does not mean you can say whatever you want as long as you don't kick off.
(Pretty sure they'd be dead before being arrested, mind).
But there's evidence of them doing it.Just to make you feel more comfortable, I have a friend who works in the Met and she says this isn’t true, only specifically Palestine Action.
But there's evidence of them doing it.
I'll let you give it a go and then get back to us. LolI'm pretty sure that is not an arrestable offence under the terrorism act.
Well yeah. I'm not going to defend that, but the 'for doing nothing wrong' is something we can't prove from the video. But let's be honest, this is the whole problem with this legislation. They brought it in on flimsy grounds without building a case publicly, which means that people are always going to reject the ruling, and that immediately puts police in a very difficult position, because they have to enforce the law even if it's stupid.Theve got him in a headlock and the other copper is punching him.
This copper needs some back up - sadly Warwickshire Constabulary will have deployed officers to assist the Met in arresting blind pensioners who are "terrorists"
There was one on the first day, where an officer was telling someone they would have to remove their banners even though they didn't say Palestine Action anywhere. I haven't seen any since then, to be fair. But then I don't look for them.can you post some ?
maybe a few officers went to far i guess.
