Paolo Maldini

Yeah, think I remember that banner from that game, really brilliant tribute.

It was Nils Liedholm who brought Maldini onto the bench and later into the starting 11 once upon a time, it's us Swedes who create legends of course. :)

Ha!!! could you imagine some one putting one up for Brian Riggs at City....FIREWORKS!!!!!!!

haha. seedorf had to do a double take. What a challenge!!

Just found this on Wiki:

Maldini made his league debut on January 20, 1985, at the age of sixteen, against Udinese as a halftime substitution for the injured Sergio Battistini.[2][3] It would be his only league appearance of the campaign, but he was in the starting eleven the following season.

Fuck me, that's almost a quarter of a century ago!

Legend indeed.

The embodyment of a club legend. He's played regular first team footie for Milan since long before I was even born (87). That's just insane. And the thing is that he's still great! Looks like he could go on if he wanted to, but at 40 it's probably time to give it a rest. I will definitely watch the game, should be something special.
What channel is it on?

I get slated off a manure fan because Franco Baresi is my favourite player ever. Because he's a defender. Along with Maldini these two embody everything a footballer should be, both on and off the pitch.

That Milan team was the best team I've ever seen play.

Baresi, Maldi, Costacurta, Gullit, Rijkaard, Van Basten.. a joy to watch

Don't know mate. Canal+ Sport here in Sweden.

To be honest i dont give two hoots about Maldini, he does not play for city, hes a defender, not exactly Pele. Its a bit like having a thread for Adams or Keown.
