Each to their own, but Maldini is a true great of the game. In his prime he had most flair players in his pocket. Few players, attacking or defensive have the ability to read a game like this fella.

Baresi is just a phenomenal defender IMO was the best that italy ever seen.
Maldini is great too (not as good as baresi) but there were other players who were just as good as maldini "Gaetano Scirea" the Juve defender who played in the 80's was just as good if not better (technically) than maldini IMO. But maldini is more versatile (left back and a center back) .....
