Papillon BBC2 10.30

HAVING READ THE BOOK WELL BEFORE THE FILM CAME OUT,
I was very disapointed with the film.
However,Hoffman and Newman were superb in the film, but many parts of the original book were OTT,compaired to the film, which is a real shame .

Superb film, not seen it for about 10 years. Hoffman is tremendous (obviously McQueen too).
Might give it a look later.

Remember my dad putting this film on the tv when i was a young lad and i thought here go this is gonna be the usual shite that he watches. Turns out its still one of the best films i ever seen.
