This is the first year of my life I haven't watched one second of any Olympics and feel better for it.

All I can say is, missing the Paralympics you missed the treat of the Summer. :-)

I watched the one legged high jumper on a post on here, that was impressive granted.

Must be the French diet of smoking, drinking Pernod and acting a **** to anyone that doesn't speak french.

Fair play to the Chinese they must look after their disabled folk more than any other country.

Paris did the games proud.

Normal service resumes tomorrow with a general strike and the mandatory weekend riots.

Fair play to the French. They've supported the games really well and in a great spirit. Being fair to all the athletes though with a slight bias to home competitors naturally. Not sure we'll see the same at the next hosting unfortunately.
