Agee with both sides. It was a nothing of an incident in one way, but in another you can't have managers going around doing that. A very silly thing to do.
I've already said he'll get at least a 10-game ban for it and in the rarefied context of football that is about right.gordondaviesmoustache said:Strange because I normally agree with your posts, but on this I believe you're wholly wrong. You can't have managers committing common assault on opposition players in the course of a game and not expect extremely robust sanctions - quite properly too.Dubai Blue said:He's right though.malg said:Stop WUMing.
What word would you be happier with?Dubai Blue said:I've already said he'll get at least a 10-game ban for it and in the rarefied context of football that is about right.gordondaviesmoustache said:Strange because I normally agree with your posts, but on this I believe you're wholly wrong. This is obviously an extreme case because it involves a manager (and he'll rightly get the book thrown at him), but I'm just getting a bit tired of hearing incidents like this described as headbutts.
Is that you Rodney?IH8MUFC said:It was a love tap. Way soccer Saturday and you lot make out it was the hardest headbutt of all time. Of course he has been fined because it's football and football is full of pansies. If that happened in ice hockey nobody would even remember it happened.RandomJ said:IH8MUFC said:Wow people are such pussies these days. That was a little tap. Nothing to see here.
Been fined £100k and looks to get a lengthy ban so obviously there is something to see here. I'm so sick of the faux hard men who every time theres one of these incidents say "was just a tap" etc. The facts are there are rules for managers and he broke those by nutting a player. Doesn't matter if it was a tap or a Zidane headbutt the intent was there and the **** has previous and will rightly have the book thrown at him.
Ha ha, I'm not sure there is a word for it!gordondaviesmoustache said:What word would you be happier with?Dubai Blue said:I've already said he'll get at least a 10-game ban for it and in the rarefied context of football that is about right.gordondaviesmoustache said:Strange because I normally agree with your posts, but on this I believe you're wholly wrong. Savage took he was acting like it was a full on assault. I think Big Dunc will be laughing his burglar-bashing cock off at this furore.Dubai Blue said:Ha ha, I'm not sure there is a word for it!gordondaviesmoustache said:What word would you be happier with?Dubai Blue said:I've already said he'll get at least a 10-game ban for it and in the rarefied context of football that is about right.

But it's only in the context of football that this gets described as a headbutt. It was the embarrassing, childish actions of a gobby wanker who regularly displays a complete lack of self control and he deserves all he gets as a result, but it was hardly the full-on Glasgow kiss that Stelling and Merson would have us believe.
