I think the first goal on Tuesday is crucial, we start like a house on fire and get it, they will lose their heads and it could be a cricket score. If they score first then it’s going to be tense as they pitch for a second, but this will open them up, really wish we had got a third last week as it would be done and dusted, we play in the first 45 mins like the second last week we will demoralise them and then destroy them.

I watched the game again today and that first half somehow did not look as bad as the first time. Even though we had more possession they did have more touches in the box, but the only clear chance in that half was Foden's.

The second half was our usual PL game, we did press higher and KDB played closer to the midfield but I think what really made the difference was the attitude of the players who played with more belief.

I think now that our players got that semi final stage fright out of their system, the second leg will look more like the second half. I don't see PSG scoring at the Etihad to be honest.

We were in control in the 2nd half - agreed - but we played a lot of that versus a 10-man PSG and yet failed to scrore a 3d.

PSG are extremely talented - we have a a clear advantage against them - due to score line and the away goals rule.

And yet, it's still very close.

We had a one man advantage for all of 13 mins + stoppage time, so "we played a lot of that versus a 10-man PSG and yet failed to score a 3d" is way wide of the mark. And why do you, along with so many other City fans seem to feel guilty about Wednesday's game and result? We know how talented PSG are. We know how good Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria and others are. We know that the tie isn't over until the final whistle on Tuesday night, but why do you have to feel so guilty, almost ashamed, of the fact that we deserved our win on Wednesday and that in the second half we absolutely murdered them so how on earth you manage to dig up the barmy conclusion that "we were at least matched or perhaps outplayed by PSG" I do not know. But then again your reaction to City's goals is bizarre: De Bruyne's goal had little to do with luck and we've seen lots of goals scored in the same way becuse the presence of so many attacking players in the middle of the goal and coming in at the far post pins the 'keeper to the centre of the goal and makes it very difficult to reach when it is just inside the post. And for the second the gap in the PSG wall was NOT "due to sheer luck" so much as a defensive blunder. So they were NOT "Fortunate goals to happen" and it is most certainly NOT the case that "a 1-1 tie would have been fair." Give City some credit.

As it stands today, we’re a goal ahead, we’ve got an away goal, we’ve worked out how to play against them, we’ve got into their heads, we are full strength and we’re going to be more rested than them and at home.

Just for once everything is in our favour, even a winnable final preceded by a relatively easy schedule.

I don't think we are letting this one get away, I feel this season Pep is more pragmatic and ready to sacrifice beautiful football to get results in big game, in the first leg even when they were 10 men down he did not go for the kill and was happy with the lead.

I too have watched the game several times on City+ and it is a classic example illustrating the difference between what is actually going on and what we feel, as City fans, is going on. I am of that generation, as are many on here, that was driven to learn from experience that if you expected the worst City always lived down to expectations. And some of that attitude remains, despite the last decade. So, on Wednesday PSG's goal proved that fate always deals us just what we don't need, just when we don't need it and I spent the rest of the first half feeling things were about to go really wrong and in the last 5 minutes of the half, as my feet twitched into imaginary tackles, I was convinced that City were going to concede a second just at the right time to commit suicide! Watching the game again nothing of the kind! PSG's goal was a good goal but at no point were we in trouble. Under pressure on occasions but not in trouble. The back four played well, at times superbly, and apart from a deflected shot which he tipped over - safety first - Eddie was largely unoccupied. And even I didn't feel the need to help out with the tackling in the second half as it dawned on me very gradually that we were actually murdering them.
