Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL SF | Post-Match Thread

It's a funny old game. There we were all moaning at half time how dominant they were, men against boys blah blah blah. If there's one thing we have more than any other team in this competition it's staying power. It's remarkable how calm we were, didn't get flustered and gradually got back into the game. Actually looking back that last 10 mins of the first half we were starting move the ball around much better and Phil had that wonderful opportunity. The experienced pros like Kev, Gundagon and Rodri were never rattled. PSG couldnt keep the levels of energy up because they don't have to week in week out like we do.

Foden also helps with the system the side plays. Better passer so helps retain possession and comfortable in all positions in the front three and across the midfield.

First half, weather the storm defensively but try to play our normal possession based attacking game whilst trying to remain solid and not committing too many defensive players to the attack.

Second half as PSG are beginning to tire after pressing for 45 minutes, let the full backs bomb on like we normally play. Those two extra attacking players made the difference by giving their defence too many players to think about. Gaps appeared everywhere. There heads went.

Bang on assessment.
 
Great result and enjoyable open game. The back 4 with the exception of Cancelo were excellent and once we started believing in ourselves we outplayed them.

Very frustrating ref. Even Jenas commented that we weren’t getting any free kicks and he fuckin hates us. Yet every time there was the slightest contact on their players they were rolling around on the floor. Spoils the competition for m.

You could almost see him cry when Micah came on. His face was like thunder when being forced to compliment us. Still couldn't resist a dig saying every team needs a bit of luck. I know it's true but he had to put that in.
 
Absolutely fucking buzzing after that performance.. They were better than us in 1st half but we hung in and showed we aren't a pushover.
2nd half we were so much better than them and deserved to win.. Could easily have had a couple more with a little luck.
Mahrez was very very good.. His work rate was so fucking good.. Bernie never ever stops running.. Mbappe is quick but fuck me he couldn't outrun Kyle.. Ruben and Stones were rocks at the back.
Phil and Kev were a bit quiet 1st half but were great 2nd half.. Gundo and Rod kept things ticking over without being exceptional.. Zinc looked so cool and kept the ball so well and made a great tackle to deny Psg.
Eddie didn't have a lot to do but was nice and calm when needed.
They looked fucking knackered after we stepped up the pace..
That dirty bastard who did Gundo deserved his red card.. Shocking tackle and luckily Gundo seemed to be OK.
