Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL SF | Post-Match Thread

The first half was a 1-0 battering.

We adjusted things, put Gundo at the base of things and never let them breathe. That second half was as impressive a display of superiority against a top class team as I've ever seen. It was a schooling.

They bottled it AGAIN.

The same posters who've bottled it every week for the last four months, bottled it AGAIN.

How many times do they need to see it happen? Plenty of teams make good starts, some claw their way into an actual game with us, but no one lives with us for 90 minutes.

But the same posters keep bottling it week after week. It's so obvious and predictable. It starts at 15 minutes. No matter what's going on. FIFTEEN MINUTES IS ALL THEY CAN DO BEFORE THEY BOTTLE IT.

They've had dozens of games to figure out what's going on. What's going to happen. Hundreds of posters telling them. But nothing will stop them from dumping all their fear in one continuous stream.

THIRTY WINS IN FOUR MONTHS AND YOU CANT STOP FLAPPING?

DOZENS OF TEAMS ROLLED OVER, MIDFIELDS SCHOOLED, EXHAUSTED, STAR PLAYERS SUBBED FOR LOSING THE PLOT.

Because they can't keep up with us.

It takes time to do this to an opponent. When will people learn? It's a 90 minute game. It takes us up to 30 minutes to get them swinging and playing their game - and then the schooling begins, and it doesn't let up until the end, because it takes time to break someone down, and it often takes more time still to then score the goals you've earned.

That's what City are doing, have done, week in, week out, with almost total success - for MONTHS now.

But the same people still bottle it, after 10, 15 minutes. The first missed chance, the first poor pass, the first little patch an opponent has any success.

The team don't bottle it - the matchday moaners do. Week after week. What will it take for some people to grow a pair, to do ANYTHING different? Sometimes I think, we're leeching off this team. The best team in the world. Show them some respect. They have balls bigger than you can understand. If you can't keep up with their adventures, despite them winning time after time, just try SOMETHING different. ANYTHING. Make it to half time without writing the team off. Count to ten before posting something you know is negative. Look, I get scared too. I can't always cope. Here's what I learned, a long time ago - shutting up is always an option.
Cheers for that and 100% totally agree.
What a great few days this has been

I hope all you bedwetters read this post and hang your heads in shame. When will you mugs learn?

Sorry, I don't like criticising players after a big win, but he wasn't good booking apart. I'm not sure what game you watched, but he got done in our box a few times, he was lunging into tackles on a yellow and he gave the ball away constantly.

He had one good spell when Zinchenko was warming up and Pep clearly told him to go hard for the last 5 minutes he was on the pitch, and he was much better playing as basically a LW, but Zinchenko is the #1 left back and it shouldn't really be a debate now.

Cancelo's inability to pass with his left foot takes Foden out of the game completely unfortunately, he just can't play balls down the touchline into Phil, and he's just so much slower at moving the ball.

He's an excellent attacking RB and when we're already going to dominate a game he's a good LB option, but not at this level.

It's a game of opinions.

Great alround performance against a very good time tonight with a lot of potential to hurt any team. No player should be getting grief tonight, a great team result.

Nervy and not so confident first half but the lads showed their stuff in the second half.

Zinchenko coming on made a difference to build up and transition. Credit to Dias and Stones...besides the goal on the corner, they kept it together at the back.

Great from the lads.

Our greatest performance in Europe that second half. I was worried at half time that we were a bit daunted by the occasion, and PSG played incredibly well, but I thought they only offered anything off set pieces. The second half their tactics reminded me of Leicester with Vardy just hooking long balls to Mbappe.

Our performance in the second half was a joy to behold. It looked like we wore them into the ground, and they mentally broke after the first goal. Dias and Stones pocketed Mbappe & Neymar turned into the version of himself that is a constant internet meme. Can't stand the prick. Zinchenko on for Cancelo was the move we had to make, no coincidence for me that we scored two with that change, it sured us up. Mahrez, Kev, Foden and Bernardo were immense, and Gundogan MOTM for me. He was outstanding.

Be buzzing all day at work, bring on Palace on the weekend, and hopefully this time next week we are celebrating. What a morning
