Danbert - going to give it a go tomorrow if you are doing it. I will be the one looking a complete c...t. if you fancy running it together.

Grey school socks, reebok trainers, whatever shorts I can find in the morning and a city hoody. I will stand quite near the back and use your hare and the tortoise technique this week.

Good luck on Saturday morning. Let us know how you get on.

I'm actually doing Oldham parkrun tomorrow. It's a hilly, tough one, so not expecting a good time.

I signed up for Parkrun and participated in my first one this morning at Worsley woods. Was a big turn out as Heaton Park one had been relocated.

Think I might make it a regular thing now the season has finished.

Ive been doing the Brabyns Park one in Marple, did my 3rd one today got my PB 25-35 well chuffed with that .Not bad for 50yr old

Well done that's good going. I used to live in Marple and went to school there. I will have to try that one, be like going back in memory lane !!

Well done mate - I have done about 20 at worsley and have ten years on you and have yet to get sub 30 Minutes. I keep trying though.

I might join you at Worsley next week. Never been there before but it's nearer than Platt Fields where I used to go. Im sure they've got room for another slow coach at the back!

its a nice flat course , and part of it you run a long side the river. I wear 2012 cup final shirt , come and say hello if you ever run Brabyns .

Just registered....will be at the Marple Bridge one 21/06, time to get the sparrows lungs expanded!

Any blues doing worsley this Saturday - look out for me in my city hoody. The fat bastad at the back

I don't specifically do the Park Runs but running in countryparks/on paths etc is so much better than a treadmill or streetrunning. It's probably harder for a start with the different terrain. I like doing a run on Moston Brook either side of Broadway and on the Rochdale Canal.

Not doing it this Saturday, but I'm a regular of Worsley Parkrun.

Determined to go post 25mins, did 25.25 on Saturday a PB! It's made running addictive.

How did you go on? It's my local one Oldham..

Used to go all the time but kids activities have stopped it for now.. :(
Love parkrun it's such a great idea and liked people say free..

Don't want to sound like I'm teaching your grandma to suck eggs an all that.

But stick with it, you lot starting out on your running hobby.

I started few years back to get fit and lose way to much timber I had.. Couldn't run a mile (like they all say). Then started on parkrun, think my first attempt was around 28/29 mins and thought I would die..
I can proudly say I have done Oldham parkrun in 20:31, run parkrun in Florida and Gdansk (Poland with a bad hangover on a stag do).

This has lead on to lots of 10k races and other events including 8 marathons and 1 ultra marathon..

I am the least likely runner (as they all say) but stick with it, for me parkrun has a lot to answer from where I was to now some nearly 5 years of running.,

Did the run this morning. Only just got there in time as it was busier around there than I expected. Did have a look out for you but to no avail.

It's a good run and the steps make it a bit harder than the usual flat run at Platt Fields I'm used to. Going to do it again.

Might bump into you at a future run.

Hi mate ! Had to give it a miss this morning as waiting for my courtesy car to arrive. Some twats pinched my motor on Thursday. Will be there next week.
