Going back to Celtic would show a big lack of ambition on his part.

Sell him to Celtic £7mill or there about, but stick a sell on clause of 30%-40% .

If Liverpool can sell Jordon Ibe for £15 million, there's no way we should be selling Roberts for anything less.

You've got to remember that Jordon Ibe is way better than Raheem Sterling who was sold for much more, so 15 million was really a pretty small fee.

He should be aiming higher than Celtic if he wants to become a better player and prove he belongs with us.

No way should be sold at the price Celtic want to pay.

I'm not sure why he is saying he wants to go back, it was a successful loan but he doesn't need another full season there, he should be wanting to prove he's good enough to mix it in the top leagues(no offence to the SPL). He's only 20 now but the way people are these days if he hasn't made a big splash in the next few years people will write him off(madness but it's the way things are going).

He's got to be a bit insecure or damn right daft to be taken in by Goofy Rogers and Celtic. Sure they are blowing smoke up his arse but he may as well go back to Fulham as go there. Really short term thinking on his part. Think we should probably cash in get a sell on clause. Celtic will sell him within 2 years once they have fleeced us.

It would seem practical to me that he won't be going anywhere unless/until [delete as appropriate] we actually do sign one or both of Mbappe and Sanchez.

We'll need an extra striker if the season progresses as well as we all hope and failing a mega-signing such as those mentioned above, he's probably as good a plan B as any.

Then again, I usually call these things absolutely arseways, so expect him to go on loan to FC Backofbeyond, tomorrow.

I've said this before but I'll say it again... he wants Celtic because of how he's been treated & by that I mean both sides, Celtic have made him feel wanted & given him excellent treatment, fans love him & he rose to the occasion. On the other hand City signed him full of promises & then sent him on loan, he was then made more promises & now looks like another loan! For him he feels messed about & As a youngster would you rather make some sort of career where you know you're wanted or passed from pillar to post knowing you'll probably eventually be sent packing anyway?
It's not about having to prove himself it's about how he's been treated, Denayer has had the same treatment. Patrick just wants to play every week, he gained a reputation at Fulham & only left based on promises made, false promises!
I love this club to death but the treatment of some youngsters is poor really & most fans don't know the full extent behind their stories, it's a shame as we could be so much better & fingers crossed we are down the line. In Patrick's case we should of done a deal & left him at Fulham to develop & progress but we stopped that progression instead.
I'm not ITK with players at our club & most info I get is commercial or behind the scenes, but this lads story I know well.

Its more like he has seen how good Foden diaz is and remembers him being the main man in an inferior league he just wants more of that, if Celtic had the money 15m we would we sell him to them.
