Patrick Viera - really starting to look the part

Unbelievable how some people on here reckon Viera had a good game!

He was f*cked after 10 mins, gave the ball away numerous times, lagging behind play, the game passed him by.

What game were u watching 'lincoln blue?'

I'd have Barry over Viera any day.

this thread as got to be a piss take,he was awful last night and like many others have said he can not hack it in them prem now, although i did think he had a good game against fulham

Can't say I've read all nine pages but have come to the conclusion, as have most, that this thread is a wind-up. Vieira was completely by-passed last night. He looked lost and contributed hardly anything. Slow and ponderous, I can only hope that he is still carrying an injury but fear his best has long gone.

Thought he had a great game last night, this couple with his showing at Fulham shows that he is really starting to settle into the team.

It was his craft that opened up Wigans defence for the first goal, something the likes of Barry and De Jong cant do.

Is he signed permanent or on loan? If he is only on loan and puts in performances like that in the World Cup, I think we may have a battle on our hands with Eurpoes elite clubs for his signature.

How will Barry get back into the team now??

Ps. To the guy sat behind me last night who booed Vieras every touch, fuck off and support someone else.
Nice wum attempt, but figured out. 7/10.

were you watching the game? he was absolute shite, missing tackles, slow, passing was piss poor, he was absolutely shocking, de jong and viera is a poor match, de jong does his job very well, making great tackles and stopping other teams play, one defensive midfielder is enough when playing at home against bloody wigan, had to be barry or even give a younger player a chance, viera is past it, has been for the last 2 years, he's just playing for the sake of it now, needs to be dropped asap

he really doesnt, he kicks fair players but most of the time he gets out played and loses the midfield battle

From where I was sat last night his performance bordered on the inept. His passing was diabolical for most of the game, one or two exceptions obviously. He had no legs, never tracked runners and failed to close anyone down. Shame really, as he was probably in the top 3 best midfielders to ever play in the premier league. Should not have come back.

You know... I just knew summat wasn't right bout him, couldn't put my finger on it at first.. but now you mention it... Looks like his left arms gone an all..

I didn't think he had a bad game. I'm not saying he was great, he wasn't. But he wasn't the worst on the park for City by a long stretch.

my ITK source told me they only went for him after narrowly missing out on the venus di milo. ;)

you must be fekkin joking ??

If his 'craft' is a lob down the centre for someone to chase then we're fucked. He is bobbins and i can't think of one good reason why we play him.

He was shit, along with Ade and the majority of 'em, if we wanna be running for the league/cups etc, then i'm afraid the team needs ripping to shreds.

now that is funny!

and imo we still see some of his class but he is way too slow for the prem now. at time the space there midfield got in our half was a discrace and we was lucky that we was playing someone shit

I was disappointed with him in all honesty because like you've said, he is too slow at running, tracking back and average players were taking him on and going past him too easily.

Be better suited in a 3 man midfield for the last 30mins of games

His footballing brain is still there somewhere as he still can pick some fantastic passes and has the ability to pass the ball on without.... a touch to control it, a 2nd touch to steady himself, a second to look up (meanwhile everyones back in position and the ball gets played to feet rather than in front of them).

^^ this is one of our real problems that may stop us from getting fourth. Soooo missing a ball carrying creative man in CM its untrue. We only pick up the tempo when our CBs start bring it forward more, almost bypassing midfield.

Come on stephen!!! your the best midfielder we've got or had in a long time when youve got your game on. We need you!
