Paul Lake leaves Manchester City

Something very sad about this for me... staff exits usually leave me shrugging, I wasn't even that bothered that Cassell and Power were sacked, but Lakey leaving seems odd. He's been involved forever and I didn't expect him to depart with City entering a new golden age. Maybe the Premier League job was too lucrative to turn down. I don't like to think of the scenario raised by someone that our new chiefs may have nudged him out - surely CITC isn't something they would tamper with?

I suppose the job he had at City was one that he would only find interesting for a limited period of time before looking to do something else. He's changed direction before in the years since he stopped playing (eg his stint as a physio) so I would be surprised if there is anything untoward in this.
