It's a bit mad when you read about yourself. Really kind of all the Blues who take the time to speak about me. I know you all appreciate how much it meant to me to wear the sky blue shirt and I'm sure Hughsey will instill that into the current set of lads.

Its been mentioned that I work as a Physiotherapist but I am also trying to eke a career in the Media world and so am starting a weekly City show on August 18th (Tuesday) with Ian Cheeseman on Radio Manchester. Hoping to be as interactive and irreverent as the show will allow, with plenty of 'off the wall' stuff as well as links into the past with some pretty cool archive commentary, where-are-they-now stuff with interviews etc. All about celebrating being a Blue, basically.

We're ironing out the format as we speak in fact. Hope this might provoke some interest and any thoughts of what you guys would like to hear (news, features etc.) As I said, it's more about the positives of being a City fan...

Oh my god I can't believe it's you, my total boyhood idol. Thank you so much for everything you did in a City shirt. I was heartbroken when you got your injury and couldn't continue to play again. Like many City fans I feel cheated we never got to see you go on and become the great that we all know you would have been.

Really looking forward to the show as well. Best of luck with it all matey.

I'm not sure if I saw Lakey play but if I did I was too young to remember. Just read the interview and thought it was a very sad read indeed, another City fuck up of epic proportions. Fair play though it takes a lot of character not to sue the arse of the club when their incompetence have basically cost the guy his career. Top man and a top blue

city missed out on a potential superstar, lakey was that good, and it never felt right seeing paul with the physios bag at burnley when city played there.

the 5-1 sticks in my mind obviously.

but the game v villa, when the initial injury occured (down in front of where the away fans stood), i thought paul would be back playing on the saturday, it didnt seem that bad.

was at the game at boro, when quinny got sent off, lost 2-0, but the night every city fan knew we were witnessing the end of what should have been a brilliant career.

not sure what paul would be worth in todays money, but he was easily the best of the young crop of city players that came through together.

Hi Paul, you were before my time, but I just read your interview (and accidently opened a new thread for it haha), I have to say it really got to me. Wish you all the best and lots of success with your new career!

I remember being at that villa game and seing lakey go down then being stretchered off was and still is one of the most haunting memories of football that I will never forget.Lake for me is the best player I`ve ever seen in the blue shirt and is an absolute LEGEND.
Can`t wait for the radio show on 18th august lakey!!

Thanks for all kind comments, and please feel free to PM me (see, I'm getting the hang of all this techno-speak) if you want to share any ideas about the Radio Manchester show starting August 18th (plug plug).
