Paul Lake

Yep, he's going to do an exclusive interview with Bluemoon. Am meeting him next week to discuss, and once it's all sorted I'll start a thread where people can post questions which Lakey will answer.

A total genius - he was my idol as a teenager and still is....I know pretty sad for a 30 something...He looked the part with his typical Madchester centre parting and cool swagger as he bossed the City team from 88-90. On our way back to Didsbury after games we always used to talk about who was M.o.M...various names would come up....then we'd all say...."what about Lakey?"....then laugh... "Yeah, but he just turns in 8 or 9 out of 10's each week so you just expect it" We all had our Fathers telling us about how Colin Bell was the best ever City player (except me as mine is a U** season ticket holder who was forced to take me to Maine Road until I was able to go with my mates...I must be adopted!) but we would ALL say - give it time and you'll be saying Lakey is the best ever City player. Well, fate and other factors didn't allow us to - but I know many blues do feel he was the best City player. Of the current team Ned displays some of his character (grounded, no big time charlie and a total Blue he gives his all each time he puts on the Sky Blue - read some of his comments last year about not being in it for money but for the love of the shirt)

I've just relocated back to MCR after working in the South for a number of years. I was pleased to find a number of Blues working for the same organisation who got to know my fav player was Lakey. My best mate wrote to him at Bolton and got him to sign a birthday card for me....when it arrived I was so touched that she had done this and Lakey had sent it back (as he didn't really need to) Needless to say it now takes pride of place in my new office. Cheers Lakey - KTF and looking foward to the book and radio show

Happy memories of a True Blue. Shall look forward to Lakey's Q&A.

Guys, sorry if you thought this was a wind-up last night. Should have maybe registered with my own name but thought I might look like a big time Charlie if I did. But it is me, honest guv!

Thanks for all kind comments, and please feel free to PM me (see, I'm getting the hang of all this techno-speak) if you want to share any ideas about the Radio Manchester show starting August 18th (plug plug).

If ever there was a player that has worn the Blue of Manchester City that would NEVER be regarded as a 'big-time-Charlie' Paul it is you.
Thanks for the reply pm fella, much appreciated.
Apologies for doubting you, sure you understand ;)
Good to have a LEGEND on board!

i used to have a picture of you on my wall picking up bishop after he scored in the 5-1, one of the best days of my life

you even got the respect of the rags applauding you at your testimonial and that some takes some doing - memories:)

I loved paul lake as a kid, me and my mate tried to sport that centre parting haircut, my bleeding curly hair just would not part in the middle though!

A true city great!

No offence, but did you look a bit like you had a sheep's head when you tried the centre-parting look? ;-)
