Paul Lake

Lake was before my time but i did go to his testimonial, i remember he kicked the match off.

If blueripple is Paul Lake then it's your fault that i have my uncle saying "Paul Lake would of captained England to World Cup" every bleedin week.

I don't mind though ;-)

Paul,
I am not ashamed to admit that I nearly passed out when you swallowed your tongue against Leicester City at Maine Road, I was stood in the Kippax at the time.
if you knew his mum SHELAH then you could understand why she said she thought OH MY GOD... she is a blue of the highest order, once worked as a barmaid in a pub in haughton green, really nice familly

paul lake was my hero as a kid. i used to get free tickets in the umbro stand which he gave to my school which his wife teached at! good times!!

blue ripple prove to me that you are paul lake and answer me 1 question. what school am i talking about??

Something I did forget to mention in my memories was my cousin slipped into a diabetic coma he was In a real bad way contact was made with the club and Paul and I think it was Jason Beckford visted him in hospital and even gave him a signed England shirt top bloke! Neil was left with the mind of a child but he loves that shirt and understands a City great gave it him!

I guarantee you 100% it is Paul Lake, I just spoke to him.

Absolutely no doubt in my mind that Lakey would have been the cornerstone of England's midfield through the early/mid 1990's at least, although probably at another club. The vultures were circling just before his injury.

I went to see 2 FA cup ties at the Old Den in 1989-90 season and Lakey was so far ahead of anyone else on the pitch it was untrue. Scored a corker of a volley in the replay, but needless to say we still lost.

Early 90's everything was going to be alright as soon as Lakey came back, but he never did and everything turned shite.

Good luck, paul

It's a bit mad when you read about yourself. Really kind of all the Blues who take the time to speak about me. I know you all appreciate how much it meant to me to wear the sky blue shirt and I'm sure Hughsey will instill that into the current set of lads.

Its been mentioned that I work as a Physiotherapist but I am also trying to eke a career in the Media world and so am starting a weekly City show on August 18th (Tuesday) with Ian Cheeseman on Radio Manchester. Hoping to be as interactive and irreverent as the show will allow, with plenty of 'off the wall' stuff as well as links into the past with some pretty cool archive commentary, where-are-they-now stuff with interviews etc. All about celebrating being a Blue, basically.

We're ironing out the format as we speak in fact. Hope this might provoke some interest and any thoughts of what you guys would like to hear (news, features etc.) As I said, it's more about the positives of being a City fan...

Lakey

Yep, this is Lakey. Hello, you legend, you.
