Paul McCartney

Maybe it's just me,but I find it rather sad that folks wish death on the sole remaining half of the greatest pop songwriting duo the world has ever seen, especially given the last difficult fortnight we've had on here.
Preference for Lennon shouldn't mean wanting McCartney dead instead, and would be the last thing Lennon would have wanted.

Thought this was going to be an RIP thread.

Very disappointed.

Or another conspiracy thread, after all the real Paul McCartney died and was replaced by Billy Shears who won a Paul McCartney look alike contest:

I was no fan of the Frog Chorus but I'm a little surprised that people would actually like him to die. Seems a tad harsh to say the least.

People always take the piss out of the frog chorus, (and they use it to berate McCartney) but in reality it was made for kids, the Beatles always did write songs for kids, Yellow Submarine, Maxwells Silver Hammer, Octopus Garden etc, it was just something they liked doing, I dont see a problem with it and it was very original for a band to release a rock album like Abbey Road and put a kids song on there, I couldnt see the Stones or Dylan doing that, so I actually think it gave the group more personality.

as regards his looks (testical face) :)

err how will you look when your 70 ? keeps himself slim & fit, thats the main thing.

I don't understand how anyone can dislike Paul. Even if you don't like his music henalways comes across as anything but a genuinely decent bloke. One of, if not the greatest pop song writers in history. Even though John was more cosmic and thoughtfully about his songwriting McCartney was in a league of his own when it came to melody.

he wrote some great less well known songs (I actually prefer these to his hits)

love this, especially the last bit where it changes to a kind of Blues/Rock thing
