Paul Merson [Merged]

Re: Sack Paul Merson

How can anyone get upset about what this half-wit says. I'm convinced he's only on Soccer Saturday for the other pundits to laugh at.

Re: Sack Paul Merson

I think he was pretty much spot on, up until the Burnley game our midfield has been lacking something for a good few games, only AJ has really shone.

3-0 against Wigan flattered us, could easily have gone tits up before the first goal.

We were lucky to come away from Birmingham with a draw in November,

Though I think he has dropped a bollock with his 1-1 prediction and his key man (haha) Sunday will be no walk over but I'm fairly confident. 3-1 City I Reckon.

Re: Sack Paul Merson

I don't know why people are are getting so hot under the collar about this nonentity.

To me he's an object of ridicule: someone you see as an irritant but you welcome them when you've had a few beers because they add the 'fun' element to a night out.
I'm sure we all of us at one time or another have had the strange little man that nobody really likes, latching on to you and your mates when you go out and you all tolerate him because he's like the court jester. You pity him, but you also like to belittle him.
This is all Merson is. A performing monkey for the Soccer Saturday gang of mates. Stelling, Nicholas, Thompson, Le Tissier etc are the main gang of buddies and Merson is the gimp who's only allowed to come along because he's the butt of everybody's cruel humour.

I agree. We have looked shite for quite a number of games. I think (hope?) that it seems to be coming together now, but we will see.

But I agree his draw prediction is wrong. We have played them 5 times at home in the PL and won 4, drawn once. Birmingham's away form is poor as well, and we are coming off the back of the 6-1 thumping of Burnley and will have bags of confidence. I cannot see us failing to score at least 2 or 3 and I don't see us conceding that many, if any.

Surely a win for us!

Re: Sack Paul Merson

A more dominant midfield? Is that a fucking joke?
De Jong & Barry > Ferguson & Bowyer
Lets not forget here, no Joe Hart for B'ham.
