Paul Moulden's book "Lethal"

Moulden was magic that night, too sharp for Chelsea, did it realise he was involved in all 3 goals tho! His neat turn and lay off for David white to race down thw right and cross for Bobby Brightwell ,arriving late in the box unmarked..like a vintge Martin Peters ..to slot in,
Then his tricky footwork for the 3rd.
What amazes me ( looking back)about that 3rd was the all out attack away at Chelsea
Take a look at our goal Morley scored at Bradford.....
It took under 7 seconds from Cooper throwing it out to Gleghorn to score. He passed it to Moulden who controlled the ball and instantly did exactly the same pass to Whitey as he did in that Chelsea game. It was instinctive. They'd played so much football together that they both knew the move that was coming.....
Whitey took one touch into the area and crossed it. Goal. Six touches from keeper to a goal!

And what a goal it Was! Glad Moulden enjoyed that success ie getting promoted with City.
Also..going back to the Chelsea game, love the way Steve Redmond esquitely turned defence into attack with some nifty footwork at centre back,..chasing down a long ball with the experienced centre forward Kerry Dixon in pursuit..he gauges where the high ball will land, switches position and plays a right footed pass to Andy Hinchliffe, gets it back and plays a left footed pass out to Brightwell.
Just watching that footage reminded me how good it was to watch Redmond play football, cool, stylish, almost Bobby Moore Esq..

Noticed Clive Wilson slung over the corner leading to Chelsea goal...

Just how many home grown City lads were on the pitch on that Tremendous Tuesday night in West London?

Vintage City.

It was a great time watching City - of course we weren't the best, but watching the 1986 FA Youth Cup team players all breaking through together was a delight..... the Huddersfield 10-1 (four starters and 2 on the bench) and the 5-1 v the Rags (5 starters) were magical moments amongst the harsh reality of the grim times the club endured.

Someone should write a book about that era..... maybe @City_Shirts can give it a go?

Something I've always wondered about Trevor Morley's goal at Bradford City is that not one player runs to celebrate with him despite the magnitude of the goal.

Here's the shirt he scored it in.

Funny listening to Tyler’s commentary there, sounded at times like he genuinely wanted us to win/get promoted, wonder what changed ;-).
