Paul Pogba

Pogba did not go missing!! He did what the coach asked him to do. How do you open up the Portuguese defence playing in front of the back 4? The commentators and pundits on BBC really ought to be a bit more thoughtful. Sissoko gets the leading role because he was the man who Matuidi and Pogba's defensive positioning was freed and tasked with charging at the Portuguese defence.

Clearly a lot of fans now know he's on his way to Utd and are busy rubbishing him. I think I will have to join up.

After 5 years of being No. 1 in Manchester and England we now have serious competition from Man Utd. Bring it on! Best season we have ever had was 2010-11 capped by Aguero, and so much of the joy / excitement was down to having genuine competition from our biggest rivals. It will be sweet again when we beat them. It's like Celtic v Rangers. Some of the excitement and tension disappears when they are not a competitor.

Get your heads around the fact that Utd are going to be title contenders or perhaps even title favourites if they make this signing. Whether they have overpaid or not, who cares. We certainly can't criticise them for that.

Lmao
Aguerooooooooo was 13th of May 2012

A player is only worth what a club is willing to pay...I dont have an issue with the 100mil rumour! "If" Rags end up offering it and want him enough to throw large amounts of cash at Pogba/his agent and Juve then thats up to them....would feel just the same if we were willing to do it! Not my money......No question he'll improve any team he joins and his value is always going to be open for debate.....The big thing to remember is the length of any contract he signs as the fee will get spread out over that term....a 6year deal at 15-17mil a season on the books doesnt sound anywhere near as bad for the player......Yes, I'd prefer to see us use that 100mil to sign Stones, Sane and Peres instead of throwing it at Pogba as I feel those 3 would improve the squad alot more but no question whoever gets Pogba in the end will be getting a young, talented midfielder who has the potential to be one of the best in the world in a few years time....

In the end, I think he stays at Juve this season....

Best season we have ever had was when we finished 3rd?

You're a strange one Marvin :-)

Money talks mate, I cant even believe as a club they would lower themselves to even try to sign him-unless of course its just one big PR exercise.

Matuidi is probably the one.

If Pogba is confident in his own talent, which him ditching the rags in the first place suggests, then if he stays at Juve now, it's only a matter of time before they cave in & let him go to Madrid or wherever. The rags will still want him then too.

Doesn't make sense to me, going there at this stage, even for huge money.

Not sorry but anything above 70 M quid
should be buying you match winners or
rather game changers(not necessarily a
forward thinking player),not potential.
He is a luxury player..You could take
him out of that Juve team and put say
a Pjanic in it and you won't see a
difference.

Lot of people jumping to pogbas defence, there really is no need, he's good and in top ten midfielders, the issue is the value on him and the perceived guarantee he'll win the rags everything, he won't guarantee them anything but he will improve them, so what, mourinho managed to destroy hazard and he is proven in this league, expect the rags to spend and improve but if anyone thinks we won't do the same is deluded.

Everything I have seen of Pogba suggests to me that the guy is a walking YouTube clip. He does nothing for 90% of games but because he is very skillful he will come up with a moment of magic that everyone raves about. People talked of him being the perfect Yaya replacement, he will never be half the player Yaya was in his prime because he can't control a game the way Yaya did. Without wanting to sound bitter, I don't see him as a Pep type player and crazy money aside I don't see where he would fit in the City midfield (knowing how Pep likes his teams to play), for me its little wonder we are not at the table for him.

If he signs for United they will obviously be delighted but I guarantee that after 6 months he will divide opinion, people will have to weigh up his moments of genuine magic vs him going missing for large chunks of games. At £100m and £300k pw you have to perform at a level where people talk about you in the same breath as Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar, Bale, Suarez etc, Pogba is nothing like this level. There are better midfielders than him out there that would command nothing like a £100m fee. I am surprised that United are so keen.

This argument that Pogba shouldn't be measured by his Euro performance as a DM is tiring. Just look at his Juve form for the past 4 years. 8 goals for each of the last two seasons, 7 in 2014 and 5 in 2013. His assists are on average per those 4 seasons at 5.25. In 2015 he had 3 assists! Even di Maria when he was at the swamp had 19 assists. And he is an attacking threat at £100m? That's laughable. Suarez at 30+ goals is an attacking threat.

A midfielder who has averaged 7 goals per season with an assist stat when comparing with other AMs are actually below average, is £50m at most.
