Paul Pogba

He may well turn out to be the best player in the world but I have my doubts. For this sort of money you want someone like Suarez who has been rippin it up in england and spain.

As City fans ask yourselves this would you swap him for Kun? No chance.

For me they have just thrown 100 million on a vanity project. Veron will seem small change.

And yet, I still don't believe they're only paying 89mil for him... I smell rag PR bullshit

Well I don't think I'd swap Kun for anybody. It could be Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez himself.

I'd have loved Pogba here. A midfield three of Gundogan - Pogba - Fernandinho would have been sensational. It's a massive shame and I still have no idea what would possess him to return to a club that essentially discarded him.

And is he worth 100M? Of course not, but I don't understand why those lot would care. It's not the fans' money and he's a huge player with potential to get even better.

That video they've released is embarrassing!
Him removing his hood and saying "I'm back", cringey as fuck. Then there's the "reUNITED" and "pogback" shite

It is. I posted earlier in the thread about compensation due on the future sale of a player who is under 24 and refuses a new contract. Whilst not definitive, after some research it seems that any club who bought Pogba, 30% of the profit made by Juve is due to the scum.

So, offsetting that payment, the rags are paying £89m which is 70% of the total figure. Now my maths ain't great but I think that works out at £127m plus change.

No, I probably wouldn't swap a midfielder for a striker. That'd be silly. Would I have Pogba in our first XI, though? Absolutely.

I don't believe this to be correct.
Compensation is paid the the training club on every transfer until the end of the season of the player's 23rd birthday. That season has just gone, and compensation is no longer due.

Even if it were due, the training costs are not a percentage of a transfer fee, they are are based on the costs that would have been incurred by the new club had they trained the player themselves. But again, it's null and void because we have passed the end of the season in which his 23rd birthday occurred.

United aren't paying 127m for the transfer. £90m is plenty enough - plus his wages (which may well be comparable with or better than Rooney). Who knows that's other addons they have too. It's still a whopping sum of money and will break the world record for a player that's not really set the world alight in the way that say Maradona, or even Ronaldo did.

well, shit.

I dont see our current midfield competing with him running at it as things stand, hes been part of a team thats beaten us home and away last year and he played a big part
Hopefully their galactico like mentality doesnt win out
