Excuse my ignorance but why would he choose to go there?
Why would you go from playing in the Champions League to Europa?
Why would he go back to a club that in his own words treated him poorly?
Why not just stay at Juve?

Those are big numbers for a club that operated on a £4m net loss last year. Bigger wages this year, golden handshake for van gaal and no CL. Will they be able to fulfil the €30m minimum for ffp the year after.

Maybe my head's buried in the sand but I haven't seen any examples of a playboy lifestyle.

Comparisons with Balotelli are laughable. Comparisons with Kanye West are baffling.

And what's with this bad influence bullshit? As far as I can tell, he's played an important part in getting his national team to the semi final of Euro 2016 and Juventus winning back to back Scudettos. What a terrible influence he must be.

It's the haircuts isn't it?

I think the comparison to Kanye is a pretty good one. Pogba's ego and his belief in what his talent is is as far away from the reality as Kanye's actual talent is in comparison to his ego. Both men are incredibly talented but neither man is ever going to be what they think they are.

The numbers being talked about since last night are utterly incredible. To put them in perspective it would make Pogba along with Neymar and Messi the best paid player in the world. In fact I think he'll be earning more than Neymar. For someone who currently isn't even the best midfielder at Juventus that quite frankly is ludicrous.

Pep said last week that the most important characteristic he looks for in a player is their belief in the idea of the 'team' as opposed to the individual. Pogba is someone who is incredibly driven and self motivated, but it's also built around personal achievement and personal accolades rather than collective ones (hence his regular comments about wanting to win the Ballon d'or). He isn't a Pep player.

It's a shame in a way that his transfer fee and wages will probably overshadow his abilities but when the deal itself is so far removed from the reality of the market place it's no surprise. If he goes to United it will end in tears and a move to Spain I'd say within 3 years. I still expect Madrid though to have something to say about him this window.

Lots of reasons. The main one being that the management team don't see the value in the transfer at the amount it would take to complete it.

That's a world away from City not being able to afford it. As an example, if Messi was available for £130m, there's not a chance we wouldn't be bidding for him. The new TV money alone (forgetting the profit in the last two years with smaller incomes) puts us in a situation where a net spend of around £200-300m would be more than doable.

Setting aside big money for big transfers is surely a better idea than spunking loads of smaller payments on players who never really seem to improve the first 11? Other than Fernandinho and one or two others we have blown many millions on squad players who never seem to take us to the next level in recent years.

Tancredi Palmeri, CNN and Gazzeta dello Sport journalist, posted this morning that he is going to the rags. €120 mil transfer fee, 15 mil plus salary and 25 mil for Raiola.

Has that guy ever been right about anything? Good grief, I'd dump money onto some "Pogba not to rags" option if I were the gambling type.

Might be insane, but at the same time, you don't get quality for cheap...

Whilst you have a point he's not an elite attacking player who wins you things like a bale Neymar messi Ronald's etc his stats aren't all that and he often gets dominated in midfield. Them numbers for him are just wrong IMO.

25million for Raiola?!?! That's unheard of and frankly insane. No wonder he's beating the United drum so loud.

This kind of money is almost beyond belief and would severely shackle the rags on transfers for an age. Never mind the inevitable wage restructuring that will follow.

Let them have the indignity of the largest transfer fee in history for one of their own Academy lads. I'll take what Pep is doing any day of the week.

http://www.prosport.ro/fotbal-exter...gba-suma-de-transfer-este-ametitoare-15519892 - is in romanian, use google translate. This sounds more like Real s kind of business but let them have him. Isn t Ntcham the new Pogba? Perhaps we already have our own Pogba for free.

Crazy revisionism on this thread, United are signing a superstar. Simple. The money is ridiculous but why do you care if it's within their means?

If you choose to spend a ludicrous amount on Pogba you're fucking up your future transfers for the foreseeable future as well.

Put far more eloquently than I could have put it. Its good and well wanting the best available players to improve us as a team but I just dont see Pogba as a Pep player. If he isnt pursuing Pogba theres a reason for it, and thats more than good enough for me.

If those sorts of figures are remotely accurate and the transfer does go through it would mean that the rags now have another player who is bigger than the club. By whatever criteria you use, that cannot be healthy. It would also mean they absolutely have to win the league. Anything less would be embarrassing failure.

I so hope this all true.

They've lost their identity, Mourinho Ibra Pogba it will all just end in tears and what makes it more laughable is how desperate they are that they can't see it haha.

if he keeps his agent and moves to united , I easily see him asking for another move in 3 years...to Madrid / Barca. Removing my blue tinted glass , to be honest that might also be the case if he moves to us...given that it is openly known he prefers to move to Real and the only reason he hasn't is that real don't believe in Juventus's evaluation of Pogba's worth.

Still not entirely sure he'll end up over there. He allegedly wants Real, Real want him but at a lower price and probably lowere wages. No doubt Mino is trying to convince him to take 3 years at the swamp then move to Madrid thus giving Mino 2 big fees. I think if Real really want him and make a proper play for him, they'll get him.

However if Real decide against dealing with Raiola I think Juve will be happy, despite any noises to the contrary, to take the money. Pogba and Raiola can get any wages and fees they want at united, they're that desperate for credibility, so I think Pogba will swallow pride and take the huge wages as long as Real aren't at the table.

I have an affiliate partner in the south who's told me that Willian says Pogba to United is as good as done.

Not that it's signed & sealed yet, but it's all agreed awaiting contracts
