How is any of this 'good news to us'? It's not being a flapper but conceding that they've bought in a top, top player that we've wanted for a couple of years. You can't talk about the fact that he 'isn't the finished article' when most of our signings can be described as such. I get that we all like to make ourselves feel good and undermine every they do but being naive isn't the way. Saying that, I think we still have the better squad in general.
Just a thought, they could have spent the money on 3-4 players and addressed the complete imbalance in the side.....

Gundogan would have been a better comparison instead of another dig at Sterlings fee.

Why would i avoid the football discussion?It's been public knowledge for many weeks that I signed up again a few months ago, mainly because it was the only place I could discuss Game of Thrones without being hounded by book readers who insisted the show had gone to shit. The mods know - one definitely does - so it's all fine.
I think it might be a good idea to erm, avoid the football discussion.

I'm not surrendering anything. We still have the best manager in the league and a damn fine squad - United might be favourites now but we'll still push them all the way if they do win it. But frankly, I think Pogba has a world class future ahead of him and United might be about to get the best years of his career. They've been amusingly poor for three years now and they've needed a huge boost from somewhere, it's not surrendering anything to admit that he might just be the kick they've needed.

Individuals players mean jack shit if they cannot improve the whole team. No one currently knows how Pogba will fit into their side. Pogba was hardly outstanding for France when he had a disciplined role was he! And Mourinho has a track record of playing a disciplined system.
Meanwhile, Pep is buying players who are suited to his system who can play his way and you're making it out like United are a much better side than us.
Yes Pogba can become one of the best players in the world but so can Sane, Sterling, KDB and Gundogan. We also have players like Silva, Kun and Vinny who can still reach a higher level.
We have far much more potential in our squad than they do and we have the better squad as it stands.
So pardon me for not shitting my pants at the thought of them getting Pogba.
