What am I supposed to do with a racist tweet? Give her strike one of three?

Ask her to withdraw it and apologise. No one is arguing the tweet wasn’t wrong. She’s knows it was wrong. She made a mistake by letting emotion and frustration get the better of her.

My point is that you lose your shit over one tweet which is fraction of the racial abuse she (and others) receive on a daily basis which she is regularly advised to ‘get over’ and ‘comes with the territory’ etc. It does no harm to show some empathy to people who experience shit that others, including myself, do not have to endure based on not what they do or who they are but simply on the colour of their skin or gender. Alternatively you can act like a pompous self righteous dick. It’s your choice.

I have never been of the opinion she should get over racist abuse. But she’s a major politician and if it was someone saying “black people....” in the same context then they’d be sacked. You cannot have it both ways.

How do you know the inner workings of her mind and what she was feeling? She apologised because she had to for her career.

I'm wondering if there also a 'group' membership that does a discount for people who are differently abled as well.

Or perhaps a LGBTQ+ Labour group, which members receive their own, separate discount in the same vein as the BAME one. Because I didn't see one listed on the list of options at this particular meeting.

If not, why is Labour focusing on just one specific group of people that are marginalised and need more representation?

Labour are too far gone it seems.

The reasonable centrists are being forced to the outskirts or banished totally and their indenture politics is skewed against the majority.

The Engineering Council are holding their annual Renewable Energy conference and it costs £40 to attend. The Institute of Aeronautical engineering feel they are under represented in this field and advise their members that should they wish to attend the conference they will subsidise the attendance fee to the tune of £10 so that they only have to pay £30 themselves.

Just trying to compute this in another context

No, the conclusion is that this is a racist action taken by the Labour Party and that's undeniable.

The idea that because the Labour Party isn't an institutionally racist body then it is incapable of committing racist actions is daft. It's circular logic. A dog is a dog therefore it's a dog.
